Did I? I definitely said he was better than Rio and a few others but I don't remember going that far.
Libel - I've never said that hiring AVB was a mistake! I don't expect any managers in the interview were asked the question - Where do you think you can finish with this squad and said 5th! I wonder what Sherwood told Levy? No idea about van Gaal but it's actually a perfectly sensible strategy to get the best squad possible and then try to hire a manager who can make the difference. There's essentially no difference between finishing 5th and 7th.
Sorry Spurf - it's just I've seen nothing positive at all from Sherwood - even if we win today it won't change my view.
Dowd displaying his inconsistency, again. Foul on the break by us = yellow. Foul on the break by Liverpool = no yellow.
There's still a core of good players for the next manager though... You'll be pushing for 4th next season again.
Power you have a very weak memory as in discussions before you admitted in hindsight it was a mistake to sack Redknapp due to the fact continuity in football management is important to a clubs fortunes. Isn't that what every club in football strives for, hire a manager who can make a difference? Just we expect quick fixes and demand too much compared to the clubs limitations and Rodgers said it himself when he turned us down because he didn't believe he would be given a chance as a manager due to the frequency we sack managers.
Perhaps people should be picking up on these too apart from just slating our team. And when Soldado was through he was pushed in the back which wasn't given so it must be that the ref played advantage, so when it went off him for a goal kick there was no advantage so the ref should have pulled it back and given us the original free kick.
3-0. Coutinho. Loads of players out of position, pointlessly chasing down Liverpool defenders who are miles away from them, then failing to track back. Really poor attitude from a lot of the team today.
Yeah, it's not as if he was allowed to run 30 yards through the heart of our midfield without challenge. Oh wait.....
