Apparently there is going to be another F1 driver in the reasonably priced car on Top Gear this coming series. I am guessing that it will be either Hamilton again or Vettel. Currently this is the leaderboard: 1. 1:44.3 â Rubens Barrichello 2. 1:44.4 â The Stig (II â Ben Collins) 3. 1:44.6 â Nigel Mansell 4. 1:44.7 â Lewis Hamilton (wet & oily) 5. 1:44.7 â Jenson Button (very hot) 6. 1:44.9 â Jenson Button (falling snow) 7. 1:46.0 â The Stig (I â Perry McCarthy) 8. 1:46.3 â Damon Hill 9. 1:47.1 â Mark Webber (very wet) 10. DNF â Michael Schumacher (sorry Manny)
I'd like to see Hamilton again to see what he can do on a dry track. Like him or not, the lap he did first time round was pretty special in those conditions.
He cut a few corners on his run, you can see it on the video. Is it a current F1 driver or "a F1 driver" ? I reckon it will be Stirling Moss, he's just retired and what better place to say goodbye than on Topgear.
I would take the times with a enormous helping of salt! How do they time them by the way, I somehow doubt they have a Tag Heure lap timing system
Hes a pretty good driver on his day, but maybe they are just better in F1. No way to know they would perform outside of F1 in other series. Many a successful F1 driver has found other series difficult, Villeneuve - le mans, Coulthard - DTM amongst others, whereas "lesser drivers" can be absolutely beastly like Sarrazin and Kristensen. You never know, Barrichello could possibly destroy Hamilton in a GT series.
You are so right. I shall stop watching Top Gear immediately. None of it is real. Next you'll be telling me its scripted
No I was not saying it was fake or not real, just that the lap times are a bit meaningless because Barrichello got the best lap time but he is not the best, basically the performance on Top Gear does not transfer to F1 performance.
di Resta I think, see what another brit can do. Would like to see Alonso do it, but I doubt he would. Even though he would most likely go top.
