Hope you do play like you did in the 2nd half against Saints. Even they managed to walk through your defence so many times that they should have put the match well out your reach. I doubt that we would be so profligate.
We were chasing the win. I'd be surprised to see Sherwood start with someone like Sigurdsson in the middle on Sunday. Tracking back isn't his best attribute. Bentaleb paired with Sandro, Dembele or the like would be my guess. We're also going to smear jam on Vertonghen's shoulders. That should see Suarez off for the rest of the season.
From the way that Vertonghen was playing against Saints he looked so disinterested that he may take the opportunity to score a hatrick of ogs. That would seriously **** up my prediction though!
His attitude's been pretty appalling recently. We seem to have a few options returning right now, but I still can't see him being dropped. Chiriches played 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over the Goons in an U21 game tonight and Dawson returned to the bench against Southampton.
Considering how Dawson made his debut at Anfield and that led to a great Spurs career (and this season...), it's strange that Veljkovic seems further away from a game now than he did when Sherwood took over.
The Palace result today shows we can get something if we get our tactics right, there is no sure thing in football
"it's strange that Veljkovic seems further away from a game now than he did when Sherwood took over" Indeed. Allegedly one of the most rated of the Academy crop, so why he has not appeared in the seniors in any capacity (especially when you consider the Sandro/Fryers combo the other week) is concerning. Either the staff do not actually rate him, or Timmy hasn't seen enough of him playing to know.
**** knows what's going to happen today, we might give them a game, we might not. What I do expect, however is for them to get a dodgy penalty, especially if the scoreline is close. Hoping to see us give it a go like we did in the second half against Southampton. If we don't win then our slim chances of top 4 go out of the window so we might as well go down swinging.
Entirely agree with everything here, including them getting a dodgy decision! They probably won't need it, but if Sunderland can keep them to 2-1 then anything is possible. And for those people saying the result is a forgone conclusion, what was your predictions of the Palace / Chelski game yesterday?
