I watch plenty, live and on the box. Obviously I haven't seen Cleverly play in the flesh many times but, for me, he's ineffective and doesn't belong in a squad aspiring to be near the top of the league. He must have something about him to have made it as a professional at United of all clubs but I still don't see what he offers. At Watford and Wigan he was a more attacking player but I think that flair has been coached out of him.
I don't think Southampton will get any better than they currently are, without serious investment. We would have to pay them a fair bit for Shaw, so it might not be a bad deal for them going forward, as they can re invest that money. I reckon we're talking minimum 30 million here
15million is quite high but cleverley at a club with less pressure might actually thrive. Until 8 months ago nobody consider Henderson better but see how things change. Back then both were ****. Now cleverleys terrible and hendersons just plain old ****. 10-15 mill to Everton, Newcastle, Spurs or a club like that would be great for him. He would quickly become an important player.
UIR has it spot on, Cleverley is a very good player, he hasn't made it through our academy and a regular in the England squad for no reason. SAF, Roy Hodgson and to an extent David Moyes can't all be wrong about the lad. It has not been easy for any of our players this season, and Cleverley hasn't had the best year, but he would do well for a lesser team. Maybe a loan deal would be the answer, as atleast he would still be on our books when he re finds his form. We don't want to sell him to Everton, and then realise we've made a big mistake 6 months later, as I could definitely see that happening
He would be great at everton with quick passing, attack orientated game. His best games for united have always been where hes given an attacking role and has mobile players around him. Remember how he and anderson used to play at 500mph for a few games before clev got injured and ando got hungry.
Why would Everton buy a player not good enough for a team below Everton, for 15m? Cleverley cannot succeed with good players around him, he'd only suffer more at a Cardiff or Palace.
Man Utd fan thoughts Hendo was **** and Cleverley was good. Liverpool fans thought Hendo was good and Cleverley was ****. Neutral fans thought they were both **** but now accept Hendo is good. To me, this suggests Liverpool fans are always right, Man Utd fans are always wrong and the neutral don't know **** until someone points it out
Really don't see why people are surprised, maybe they're just using the opportunity to have a pop at the player rather than actually give an honest opinion. But the facts are there for everyone, Everton have bought a host of players from us, many of who have succeeded. If Everton bought Phil Neville and Darren Gibson from us, why not Cleverley (he's better than Gibson was when we sold him)
It's all academic anyway, Cleverley signed a new contract because he's at United as one of the home grown players. Can't see us selling.
Bite Everton's hand off and then tell hin you'll gift wrap hin for free. He pants, you know it and we know it -appears Everton don't!
