Had few drinks with my brother at a pub run by a forest fan tonight nd talk bout when lcfc cn gt promoted nd we cme up with this very odd scenario IF LCFC beat wigan nd sheff wed QPR fail to win on sat with Kermogant scoring the goal that makes qpr drop points necessary for lcfc return to premier league This is a drunken thought so hopefully no non lcfc fans who reads don't take this post as being arrogent
... we'd need Derby to slip up too and they have the easiest run in of all on paper.. Middlesbro away Blackpool away Huddersfield home Doncaster away Barnsley home Watford home Leeds away
This, imo, is why it may take a few more games to be certain of promotion. Wigan QPR and Reading all need points, so i cant see us winning all of them. Draw against Wigan will do for me although they havent been the best recently
My ideal scenario is we win against Wigan and Sheffield, leave the Sheffield game with the ground bouncing, QPR win the next day but we beat Brighton on Tuesday to completely seal it.
Not true, we could (and in Unleashed's scenario, will) have more points than Derby can get in total before they even play again. QPR would only be in with a shout in the highly unlikely scenario that they somehow overturn a goal difference of 22.
Didn't we win the league or get promoted after we played against Brighton last time we went up to premier league. I remember we had a celebration at the end of the game.
Don't remember that promotion, only promotions i have been to are Derby and Palace at Wembley and the (quite sombre) celebration at the Walkers when we were promoted from league 1, the Scunthorpe game.
Yep, I remember going to that game when I was probably about 9, can remember not really understanding what all the fuss was about. Seems funny now!
Last time we won promotion to the prem we beat Brighton at home 2-0 At the minute if we pick up the 7 points needed as quick as possible we would get promoted against Brighton at home
Quite conceivable that a win at Brighton will be needed. Can see us drawing against Wigan, although I'd love to win there and get the job pretty much done on Friday.
