I think we're exactly where you'd expect us to be, all considered. The two teams above us have settled squads, that have been moulded and gelled over a number of seasons. They've been fortunate with injuries too. We got rid of 18 players over the summer, and flung together a side full of new recruits. The best of those new recruits then got injured, and we slipped out of the automatics. Not rocket science! Bear in mind that a lot of people wanted Nigel Adkins, who's masterminded a very flaky Reading side. They lost 3-1 at home on Tuesday to the then bottom team...things could be worse.
Maybe it was Stroller but you're saying that the highest team in the Playoff positions at the moment, has no chance in the Playoffs. A few days after we beat Man City slayers Wigan FFS! C'mon mate, the days of QPR fans being happy watching glorious high-scoring defeats are over. If its entertainment you want, perhaps you should head to the Picture House or a show of some sort. Redknapp's grinding it out all the way and I think he might, just might, pull it off. (No offence btw Strolls )
Blackpool had lost 11 of 12 away games and the idiot in charge plays 5 defenders plus Henry who acts like an extra defender. Then there's BAE over Yun, also Keane who just looks like he's a random kid picked out of the crowd You have to laugh. A season in the PL under Redknapp would be abysmal. I'd sack him no matter what in the summer, even if we win at wembley.
You're a clown. For entertainment purposes only. You clobber around this Forum in your huge size 30's, gesticulating to the crowd like a fool lost in oblivion. Do us all a favour. Take your conspiracy theories and your big red hooter and sling your hook, Krusty. We've had enough of your act.
Anyone who saw that line-up before yesterday's game would have been seriously worried, it was inexplicable and they played that way. Harry had two windows to get some decent creativity into the side and instead we got more of the injury-prone, unfit mercenaries or underdeveloped kids who can be swatted like flies...
With all of the injuries and SWP out of the reckoning, I was not surprised by the line up. With Faurlin, Barton, Jenas, Traore and Kranjcar injured and Benayoun suspended; I feared that we might have to - again - throw together a midfield that have not played regularly together. And it showed. Clint Hill was the only attacking threat. Overlapping BAE at times. No threat from the right until David Hoilett entered the field of play.
It matters not one jot how many injuries we have........playing Hughes as a wing-back was laughably inept. But you thought that was ok did you?
I thought we had no attacking threat from the right. I would prefer to see YSY get a run out. One for the future I suspect. It was good to see the immediate impact that Danny Simpson had on entering the field. Apparently Wally Downes whispered to him as he entered play "I've nicked your phone". That seemed to fire him up sufficiently.
Redknapp has been piss poor, he won't play any of our youngsters but insists on playing Keane who's never scored a goal and is a shadow of a player like macheda! That's how bad he is. If we manage to go up, it will be because the player overcame all of Redknapp failings, I've no doubt he will claim the glory for himself though. Has anyone listened to him, the opposition are a top, top team, they have some triffic players and its a hard hard league et . He's out psyched our own players from the start by making them think we are playing ****ing barca every week!
Exactly that! We're relying on 'old man Hill' who should be at the centre; with YSY on the left and Danny 'call me maybe' Simpson on the right. Did I mention that I feel we really miss Joey Barton?! @Joey7Barton: Hopefully sooner rather than later on my injury. Can't help but feel we missed an opportunity today. Still a point gained...
I disagree. I think retaining Clint Hill in the centre minimises the risk of being exposed to a fast paced opposition winger on the right. That then opens up the left back position to YSY. With Danny Simpson returning at right back and a choice between Richard Dunne or Nedum Onuaha for the final spot on the centre next to the captain. My preference would be Nedum Onuaha. Then we need to start the midfield with Joey Barton and work the rest of the team around those who are fit and available. It's galling to think that at the moment we have Joey plus Matt Phillips, Nico Kranjcar, Ale Faurlin, Jermaine Jenus, and Armand Traore all crocked.
This really is quite amusing. Im still not making any judgement on hary just yet and here's my reasoning. So far he has put out some highly questionable team selection and formations - agreed BUT He has been charged with dismanrling a terrible team, getting rid of slackers and bad influences 7 getting a new team promoted inside 1 year. We have a terrible amount of injuries and some players just not good enough. That my friends is a mamoth task for SAF, Wenger or any Manager to pull off...... Now from where i stand, he is still on target to achive all of that. The top 2 are gone and we are currently "the best of the rest". I simply cannot wait to read this board IF by some miracle we do go up. The anti Redknapps are going be commiting hari kari all over the place, Flyer will spontaneously combust & Stan will become a recluse (no offence). Others will simply implode and it'll be like a scene from Gallipoli... Anyway, lets see if he can do this job through to the end eh? them judge him. Jury still very much out for me.
