Okay, it's not the same squad completely. But you look at our starting 11 vs Everton - only 2/11 players introduced this season. You look at the bench, only 2/7 players introduced this season. Regardless, that wasn't the point of my post. Did you read the first sentence and ignore the rest?
Totally disagree valley . Players up to 3 million £ is where it's at imo. Lots of room to make a bit of money and less chance of losing money if it doesn't work. I'd take Chico and Michu before Ki and Pablo , at way less than half the cost. Money to be made on Chico and Michu , we will be lucky to get our money back for Ki and Pablo . Once you hit around 10 million £ , you start to hit a whole new situation , as a basic rule. I'm always leery of that 5 million to 10 million player , can lose a lot of money . Seems the real top quality starts after 10 million , just my opinion
But we need decent defenders and you ain't getting them for 2-3 million. We need to spend around the 5-8 million on a couple of defenders. For 2-3 million you can get a Chico, for a few million more you get Caulker.
Do you mean the Chico that easily leads our defensive stats made up of tackles, headers, clearances, passes and interceptions etc? The Chico that is high up, if not top, in the Premier League for accurate passes in the opposition half by a defender? Okay, he makes mistakes but, oh boy, so does Williams and all our other defenders and he's worth a lot more than £2-3 million.
We have a good , cheaply bought defence . Chico led the entire Premier League this past weekend in interceptions, followed closely by Rangel .17 between them I think I read . Don't remember him giving up another penality either , that should have counted I should add.I'll focus on his positives , you can focus on what you'd like .I wouldn't trade Chico for Caulker straight across .
Agree but one thing is certain Caulker has defiantly grown up this season and could rightly be considered a seasoned PL player , after the season he's had and I'd d guess a different more confident player now than as he was with us
I'd take Caulker in a heartbeat, just not ahead of Chico. Chico and Michu were a godsend , for peanuts . I know I go on about Chico , I see him as a leader who stumbles here and there but who doesn't. Chico also saves a lot of fellow defenders arses with his anticipation to a play.
No good enough to climb up to mid table Vetch, keep the faith mate we'll get there!..................
Why should I, the previous regime was taking us down and killing our footy soul, that much was obvious to the clued up supporters of which I'm one!............ please log in to view this image
lol, but keep the faith regardless right we were after-all higher in the league than we are now, and your keeping the faith now lol
The previous regime was struggling to cope with back stabbing as well dragon. We would have been ok anyway but the board panicked and gambled.
All these clubs that the old regime have been to can't all be wrong, embrace change girls, and stop crying!.......................
Half listening to a phone-in on Saturday and I'm sure Nathan Blake and David Giles agreed Caulker wasn't goo enough and should be replaced even i f they go down? Do we make more of him than we should because he was with us scores the odd goal? ps Don't think we'll routinely get away with £2-3 million players any more.
