15 goals in 26 games for a young player like him is pretty impressive.

Not a bad signing, but still think we need ANOTHER super world class striker, the more strikers, the better, so wouldn't be against it.

And when you score that amount of goals for Nuremberg, it's even more impressive.

If this guy is our starter next year, we're screwed. He can't create a chance for himself, his movement is poor etc.

Quite happy to see young promising players come in but I feel we also need a real top draw player to lead the line.

Agreed. If we sign Drmic, then he'd be 2nd choice, Giroud 3rd, we'd need someone like Costa

Yep, also can see Wenger sending out someone like Gnabry on loan next season to a PL club.

I thought he was just overrated?

He is, but he's the best available option. Giroud today showed that it's on him why this team is failing. Set himself up nicely for a clear shot, then scuffs it, a real striker would have at least hit the target

Nothing short of a top class established striker is acceptable. We've suffered enough.

Think he'll be a replacement for one of Giroud or Podolski, much as I like them both (as back up).
Really can't see Giroud having a future at this club, especially if Wenger stays on.

There's a decent chance of both Giroud & Pod leaving this summer I think. Giroud is unpopular with the fans & his Mrs, while Pod is an absolute hero but hasn't been given much of a chance to play, and needs to at this stage of his career.

I think Pod and Giroud will go. Or at least one of them. We'll get Campbell and Drmic plus a new top striker. That should be good, two youngish strikers and one established one.

I think giroud and podolski are both good quality squad players and it'll depend if they are happy to accept that role as to what future they have at the club.

They're either squad players for us or first choice for someone like Everton, Marseille, Schalke...

Giroud is just another version of what Wiltord used to be for us, a decent squad player but when the first teamers are fit, he sits on the bench. Just my opinion.

Seems a good signing. Top class potential.
We have to keep making signings like this. It's the only way we can compete with the top clubs. I'm not sure he's quite ready for the top level yet though.

We still need a more experienced 1st choice.

Costa, Martinez, Huntelaar, Dzeko, Ibrahimovic, Falcao, Mandzukic Benzema, Cavani one of those would really make me happy.

I see Pod as a potential top player for us in the Pires mould. I think the problem with him is he is a player that needs that feel good factor to get the best out of him and he just doesn't have it with Giroud. Put in a striker that he links well with and I think he will explode into great form and with Theo the other side the could have a formidable attack (for half the season anyway if we can keep them fit that long).

And behind them we will have Ozil, Ramsey and Flamini who can all put in a match winning performance on their day with Wilshere, Cazorla, Rosicky, Arteta, etc as backup. Maybe a new Dm in there as well. Then its just strengthening and replacing players to maintain a squad that has the potential to challenge the oil money clubs for the league.......in my opinion of course.
