HORNETS: Wilks; Johnson, O’Nien, Doherty; Barnum-Bobb, Jenkins (Cox, 46), Abdi (Stewart, 62), Hope, Bawling; Folivi (Choi, 74), Lewis.

    Subs: Otudeko, Young.

So, some game time for both then. Fingers and toes crossed for Abdi next season being fit. As for Jenkins I can't believe he is still knocking around!! I wonder what his wages are??

I think it make a mockery of the short-term loan system...

Whilst acknowledging the element of risk with any signing a club makes, we have sure made some poor signings this season and have wasted alot of money on players wages who just are not up to featuring regulary in the first team. I thought players were suposed to be vetted on their suitability both professionaly and personaly before they were signed?. We seem to have operated a knee jerk signing policy this season and the man in charge has certainly been the weakest part of the club set up this year.

On a positive note welcome Albert and good luck in your Hornets career.

    Competition for Pudli.

Got good experience and played at the top level so might have a Tozser type impact.

Fingers crossed, unsurprised he is injured. He might not even be with us next season if you look into the article.

Luke O'Nien has signed for Wealdstone on a month's loan as well.

Gives him game time and he'll probably come back to play a part in the final couple of games for us?

Chelsea's 21-year-old midfielder Josh McEachran, currently on loan at Championship club Wigan Athletic, believes he can break into the first team at Stamford Bridge. ??!!

Maybe if Chelsea lose all their midfielders to injury and buy no-one else...

Or if they change the rules to say every Premier league club must start each game with a midfielder called Josh. Never thought of that one did you Mark?!

These guys have been given Professional deals:

    Jorell Johnson (Central defender)
    Alex Jakubiak (Striker)
    George Byers (Midfielder)
    Josh Doherty (Full back)

All played well this season and good prospects.

Hopefully they become stars for us.

4 is a lot compared to the average so high hopes I suspect.

The most important fact for these four lads is to realise that they have not yet made it and the HARDEST work starts now. I've seen many young prospects over the years who look the real deal and then fall by the wayside because they didn't put 100% into their work after they got their first professional contract.

Very true - particularly at the big clubs when they are given massive new contracts and all the perks.

Sometimes its the parents and agents that have to keep their feet on the ground too rather than trying to push their lad too much too soon.

The extra experience of having a few players who have played at the top level might help.

Those middle two in particular look exciting prospects - and I'm not just saying that because they're both Scottish...:)

It's a shame to see no Wilks on that list. He is a very promising GK IMO. I hope he finds another club and excels there and proves us wrong.

I thought Jazzi-Burnham Bobb might sneak in too. But I'm not disappointed with the crop, it was a very strong team this year with a lot of talent in it.

As a matter of interest what is the Jakubiak tartan? Come to think of it what is the Boots tartan?
(Before the PC brigade come down on me, anyone can have a tartan. The chief Rabbi in Scotland has just had a Jewish tartan designed).

Not got a tartan myself being English but thinking a black background with red and yellow checks-lines would look pretty cool, think I may just get one designed and use for the kids weddings...
