We just simply don't have the defence or the discipline of that United performance. We were also lucky that night, but we MADE our luck. Can't see it this time.

 

If Bayern are on top form it doesn't matter what United do, but United are gonna best Bayern by a couple, probably 3 0 going into the 2nd leg.

 

Also Barca 07/8 were falling apart under Rikjaard. They came third in La Liga, only got 67 points, their lowest points total for years by a mile, 10 points behind second place Villareal, and 18 points behind Real.

Once Pep took over he got them back to their best: getting 96, 99 points etc.

When did United last only get 67 points in a league season?? And La Liga was weaker: that's how poor Barca were that year. Ron and Deco out on the lash

Where did Chelsea finish the year they won the CL? Liverpool? 6th and 5th. inconsistent sides can win the CL. Barca were inconsistent but they had a quality side capable of beating anyone on the night even then. It's never easy to put them out of Europe.

and that scoreline on tuesday (while half decent considering our recent results against the top teams at OT) would be as good as being knocked out

 

Il be happy if we still have something to play for going to Germany, so any draw, even a score draw wouldn't be a disaster. I have visions of us losing by 3 or 4 at home and being out of the tie before the 2nd leg
