Some words from Mauricio Pochettino in the tunnel... “I think it was definitely one of our best. We want to congratulate the fans. We want to give them that victory.” “I was very happy, we were playing very well. At the same time I was very angry, we were wasting chances.” “Even before the game (I was enjoying it) in the dressing room there was a very good atmosphere and good energy." “When the whole team plays well, as it did today, the collective has a power that is irresistible.” “I am very happy overall because it was very deserved by the players and the supporters.” "It was just an amazing performance.”
Well that was rather pleasing. Could easily have scored 10. Rodriguez really should have had a hat trick but never mind. Adam never fails to amaze me - he can now shoot from outside the area!
That makes up a bit for last weeks disappointment. I am excited by our trip to Man City next weekend, I am sure we can give them a run for their money and hopefully Schneiderlin will be back.
In the first half I was beginning to think it might not be our day after all the squandered chances. We certainly gave them a game, some of the passing was sublime. Even Boruc got in on the act that was an exquisite throw out for our third. A lesser experienced player than Lambert might have had a go himself rather than passing to Rodriguez for his first. Especially after some of the shots he had already missed that is a team player well done Ricky. The goal of the game though was obviously Lallana's that was a peach. Good game all round.....just hope we didn't pick up too many injuries!!
Yes. Great manager as he is, todays defeat some sort of karmic (word?) punishment for spouting a lot **** lately/throughout the season.
In fairness, the BBC guys in the tunnel said José did his team talk then knocked on the Palace dressing room door and went inside to shake Pulis and his players' hands and congratulated them.
Rule number one of punditry: stake out unpopular opinions to get people talking. Rule number two of punditry: never change that opinion, no matter the crush of evidence against you, because the more absurd it looks, the more people will talk about it.
