Two reasons to be cheerful, the mackems are in the clarts and the mancs in disarray.

    Oh aye.

But I see the mancs as secondary glow, Albert. The mackems are primary glow. The mancs will soon add a lot to the Glow when they get thrashed off Bayern.

They might bring SAF back and start winning everything again.

Fergie and Sam seem to be getting on quite well.

Next season will be make or break for Man U.

Their revenue projections are hugely dependent on Champions League football, both directly from the revenues and indirectly through far east shirt sales. They have sufficient reserves to survive one season without Champions League. I doubt if they have enough to survive two seasons without Champions League football without dramatic cost cutting. Their owners are interested in taking money out of the club, not putting money in. If FFP means anything, putting too much money in would mean no Champions League anyway.

This makes the next few months hugely important. They have to buy a host of new players. They had trouble landing top players last summer when they were the champions - - it will be much harder now. Buying the players (if they are able to sign them) will mean blowing their cash reserves. If the team doesn't gel enough to make the Champions League (and none of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs are going to step aside to make room for them) then they will have to scale back massively in the 2016- 2017 season, and for the foreseeable future.

    Squeaky bum time.

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

Anyone of a certain age remember when Man U were relegated? One of my finest moments as a football fan.
