7 points from 9 is a good return, shame we couldn't win today but we're still in there. Well done lads.
Sorry san diego but it feels like a defeat, mick got it all wrong today!! Not saying 7 out of 9 is not good but.........
I hear what you're saying mate. At least we came from behind again to get something out of it, although that's not much consolation considering we could have started with a different line up.
Maybe Wordsworth was struggling having played two games in a few days and MM decided he needed a rest, I'm sure the knives would have been out had he sent Wordsworth out at 75% fitness. its easy to make decisions without knowing the full facts or even having to stand by those decisions and also if Wordsworth did play it does not mean that we would of won the game or even got the draw we did. Still in with a shout.....its not sudden death yet we don't have to win every game from here on in we have plenty of points to play for.
OK WCP i get ya point, you back MM no matter what but on the other hand had Woody played we may have won!!! You are happy, i am not!! For me, MM talks out of his ass and he is soooo wrong the way he bumps up the opposition but hey its not dead in the water and fingers crossed.... Just think we missed a trick today and i blame MM for that (as i would) and listening to his excuses today just infuriates me even more, god i hate our manager so much!! Sorry guys, cant help it, i just detest the guy!!
Let's not speculate about why one player is in or out, we are not on the training pitch or in the dressing room. We've been dealt a lucky hand again today, that goal was absolutely vital - I'm very happy not to have given Forest a head start on us going into the final 7.
Thats not having a go at you WCP, it just seems you defend MM all the time and always back him and find excuses for him, cant actual recall you finding any fault, **** me, even ptc finds fault in him!!
I'm not backing him no matter what i'm just not going along with you that Wordsworth not playing was the reason we didn't win today, i was surprised that he didn't keep the line up from the Derby game or at least the second half team from that game, but between tuesday night and today MM has had the players in training and seen the levels they are at so i trust his decision which is made with all the infomation available rather than an opinion on just the last result. That said i do tend to back a manager i did with Jewell and Keane and i will continue to back Mick until the time when/if he leaves us with no choice but to part company.
Ok Spanish if you want me to tell you where i think MM has made a massive blunder i will i don't like bad mouthing anyone connected with this great club but as you seem intent on dragging my name about calling me lilly livered and such i will break cover for a while to give you an insight on my deepest thoughts and beliefs.... ....Mick was an absolute twat for shaving of his Beard and that could cost us promotion...
Spanish you really do need to get a grip old son! If we had been offered 7 points out of the last 3 games against our nearest rivals we would have ripped their bloody arms off come on just admit it! We have no right to be challenging for the playoffs but we are and it's down to Mick squeezing every ounce of skill, desire and belief out of this group of players. Brilliant man management in my book and we are so damn lucky to have a guy of his calibre managing our team.
According to Twitter (I forget which specific journalist) MM was asked directly about woody and said he was fine, It does just seem that the second string players have no shout of a consistant starting 11 place no matter how well they've played. I dont Mind Skuse coming back in to start but Woody not even making the Bench is lost on me. But we did turn it around again, collected another point, we haven't lost ground on Reading, and by all commentries I got it was Darlow keeping them in the points by the end of the game. It was also Nouble that changed the game, who would have thought that earlier in the season?. So frustrating missed opportunity but we emerge the other side of our Make or break 4 games very much in the mix, I find it hard to complain too much.
Spanish. Have you ever heard of the theory of the self-fulfilling prophecy? If you tell someone they can't do something often enough, they cease to be able to do it. If you encourage someone to do something and convince them they can succeed, they have a much higher chance of achieving their goal. That's why football fans cheer their team, win or lose. It's inspirational. Now I doubt Mick McCarthy is on Not606, but it really wouldn't hurt to throw some support behind the team. I thought Town played ten times better today than on Tuesday. The fact that the winning goal remained elusive was a shame, but the way we played was certainly more encouraging. Should MM have started Nouble and SEB? The game certainly picked up after they came on. But wait! Perhaps they weren't fully fit and couldn't have managed a full ninety minutes. Having not seen them in training or spoken to the physio, I don't know. Was there a reason for leaving out certain players in favour of others? Again, without any of the facts, I don't know. Football management is something that every football fan thinks they can do and accordingly feels justified in criticising the manager of their own team. The truth is, it's undoubtedly a very difficult job. Let's not forget that we are closer to promotion than we have been since the first year of Jim Magilton's tenure. Mick has spent almost nothing, yet has done some savvy loan deals (hello! Jonny Williams!) and cut some of the chaff from the wages bill. If that's not good enough, then perhaps you'd consider moving back to England and grace us with your managerial majesty! He's not my favourite manager, but he's done a much better job than his predecessors. Blindly criticising someone who is actually doing a good job with no money is just ignorant.
