I think we can pack our defence and maaaybe stop them from scoring. Unfortunately I cant see us scoring, so maaaybe another 0-0 keeping that particular record going. Not really looking forward to this one - but hey, as others have said, it's a funny old game.
Based on form guide, we are the 11th best team in the league from our last 6 games, showing what major bottlers we are during the crunch time of the league, but we've come to expect that from Wenger. When we played Liverpool last month, we were 8 points above them, we're now 5 points below them, , but obviously all is good in your wengerite world, and nothing went wrong at all. Go watch polo, football ain't cut out for you, this ain't no Disney movie where losing is spinned into some sort of success, coming 4th doesn't make you winners.
I think the players can prove a big point today and get a result against Man City. We aren't out of it mathematically and winning our 2 two games would put us right back in it. But the big question is can they raise their game?
Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Arteta, Flamini; Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski; Giroud. Subs: Fabianski, Bellerin, Jenkinson, Kallstrom, Gnabry, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanogo So no one with pace, no one who's going to run at the defence and it's not even an ultra-defensive line up. No idea what game plan Wenger is trying here, if there even is one.
With Chelsea losing, this is a perfect oppurtunity for Arsenal to get back into the league if they beat City today! This is massive incentive for Arsenal now
We don't win today, then we are the ultimate bottlers, with Chelsea losing today, and we now have a faint chance of being back in the title race by also taking 3 points from Mancity. No excuses from the positive spin job wengerite brigade if we don't win today.
To be honest a win will be a hard task. What will be worrying for me is if the players dont put in a proper shift. I want them closing down and running their bollocks off today. Anything less would confirm that these guys are pussy ass bottlers.
maybe you should re-define your definition of bottlers. up out front, and losing to relegation fodder, is bottling. that's what chelsea did. losing to the team many predict will win the league, who have scored shed-loads and lost 1 and drawn 0 at home in the league, is not bottling.
Wenger goes on about how great we are, so let them show it, we're playing at home, been through so much ****, if these players are what them and Wenger say they are, then they need to go win it. Yeah we have injuries, but so do City, and we're not exactly playing with rubbish players, you look at our front 3 midfield and they aren't odd ones out, Cazorla-Podolski are starters, Giroud is also a starter, and in the big games this season, we've often had the Arteta-Flamini link in the middle. So a lot of first team players are playing, it's not like Arsenal team C.
Bottlers= Always ****ing it up when it matters like we usually do in the title race, you look at our form since February, and that's what you call bottling it. And losing to City the team everyone says is the best etc etc, well aren't we title contenders too? Isn't that what Wenger and the players have been saying, how great we are bla bla bla. Lol, the excuses are coming already though, it's funny.
That's why I expect Arsenal to go out there and give their all even if they dont win. Anything less would confirm this team to be a spineless bunch.
Arsenal win today, and Wenger and the players can proudly put their chests out and talk all the **** they want. Time for them all to stop talking, and get the job done on the pitch, they owe it to the fans, and themselves.
I hear what you're saying, but for me, even if we do put in a great shift, and still fail to win, for me that just confirms we're simply not good enough (which btw I already think). We're owed a big win against a top side, not just a good performance, but a win. Our record against the big sides is abysmal, so not winning again today is not exactly sending out the best message, even if we do put in a good performance, it's about winning these games. Even if we put in the greatest performance in the world, the only thing that will go down on paper is the result, not the performance, nobody's going to really remember the performance.
