So the petulant pathetic moneybags went ahead with the banner protest. Oh well doneguys, all you have done is make a mockery of the real fans with this childish display. I can only assume that most of your are the "prawn sandwich brigade" which Keano identified a few years ago.

I did say in a previous thread that this protest was pointless, and that real fans have no desire whatsoever in this prank, which only proves you have more money than sense. I had to giver up my season tickets in the Stretford end a few years ago, and that was down to ill health of my wife, not financial, and we both miss the games terribly. But under no circumstances would we have joined in on this debacle.

The real problem we have is that we have had 25 years of dominance under SAF, and we all know sooner or later he would retire. Its sad he has retired, but the club has to move on, with rthe new manager, and all this sniping and complaining is not the way forward. So back off with these "stunts" and get behind the manager and await better times. Otherwise, you will all be branded as something that rhymes with stunts. But hey, with the lack of intelligence with the protest, I can only assume you have enough brain power to work out the rhyming word.

As a REAL United fan, I wan to distance myself away as far as possible from this pathetic protest. Hope the next prawn sandwich chokes you

So arw fans not allowed to voice concerns.

Should they have booed? Chanted moyes out? Held up banners?

    Would that have been better?

Or are United fans exempt from voicing concerns about the club they support?

The fact is some fans paid a few quid to stage a protest just like millions have done before. They did it before the game and out of the stands. The protest was aimed soley at moyes. Not the club or the players.

I dont see the issue. Supporting a failing manager does not equal better support. The fans supported the team as always but the simple fact is this....

Moyes needs to go. No ifs or buts.

Sure there are better ways but what harm has it done? Were they riots? Did someone die?

The OP is spot on, the thing is that those who were Utd supporters pre Fergie were/are diehards and have the patience now to wait just as they did post Busby, but the glory hunters amongst the Utd support can't bare even one season in the wilderness.

Plastics are worth megabucks to big clubs in terms of merchandise but aren't worth a ham shank when the going gets tough.

It's simple for me. It's not about Moyes, it's not about the individual, it's about the position. In other words, you support the manager no matter who he is. You back the manager!

I think Moyes has made a lot of mistakes and he has definitely lost the dressing room, BUT until he has built his own team with players who are willing to play for him, it is too early to judge. It's way too early for protests, and worse still, the manner of this protest was way over the top and made me cringe.

It was a pathetic idea in the first place and came across as exactly that, pathetic.

Booed by the crowd in the ground and ignored for the most part by TV.

    Zero impact, well done.

Still no idea what the big deal is.

Outside the ground, not during a game and soley aimed at moyes for his failings and excuses this season.

Far worse would have been something inside the ground. Something that would have affected the game. That for me would have been worse.

All the plane banner does is let moyes know hes not as popular as his deluded mind suggests and lets the club onow that despite have stewards do their best to control the mood, the fans will get their message across.

I suppose they could have protested outside old Trafford before the game and got a similar reaction but why not think outside the box for once?

At some point in this thread someone will make the claim that Fergie struggled at first and some wanted him gone yada yada yada so obviously all managers will eventually become successful if given time....

Please dont, its an insult to Fergie and everything hes achieved. Few managers will ever achieve anything close. Hes regarded as the best ever because of how rare such success is.

You know whats really embarrassing? That chosen one banner. A million times worse than the plane. Cringeworthy banner. Even moyes has said it is stupid which says it all.

The plane wouldnt have happened if not for the chosen one banner.

It got epic coverage, a few bits on the SalfordBBC, by the time match time came around he got so much attention that he added nothing making the flight.
it won't have changed anyone's minds one way or the other.

I actually get fans supporting United but not Moyes. I know many mancs that never wanted him near the club. They have a right to disagree and still watch the team and want them to win. Don't see a problem with that.

It's the "I want him gone" "Nah he has my backing", "I want him gone" again fans that are tragic.

He's a soppy bollocks glory-hunting plastic Man U fan from some little village near Swansea mate, admits that he's never seen Man U play live ever. He's about to jump ship to Chelsea soon anyway, so no worries, I blame all this **** on Sky myself.<ok>

  12. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but the point the OP is making is that the actions of a small minority (possibly of one) has potentially taunted the reputation of millions. It hasn't for me though, if you had a reputation to be taunted in my mind then it was damaged last week when parts of the crowd turned on the clubs greatest ever legend, Fergie!

do you actually believe these knob heads paid for this?i think they will have come up with the idea but the tabloids will have paid for it.they love a bit of chaos .i mean the papers knew about it at the beginning of the week?

  14. Inclined to agree. Not sure about a tabloid because its not going to be an exclusive to one paper is it? Possibly a opposition fan with too much money?

I must have missed that, did they?? I have a friend who says Fergie should never have had any say in who was appointed next manager. He goes as far as to say he had no right. I can understand the sentiment and that's fair enough, but you don't fcking turn on him publicly <doh>

Ironically, that saying is also something the club prides itself in.
