Project all the stats above are flawed, came about after 4 games of Monk beng in charge, a complete waste of time. Take off your rose tinted Monk specs, its time to smell the coffee, he's as good a manager as he was a defender, Id rather Tate in charge!
And an outstanding defender for us he was too. My God gendros, what is it with your vendetta with Monk? Hell it comes across as personal. If you want to attack Monk the manager then that's fine, but you should be embarrassed for attacking Monk the player.
First of four wins from our seven remaining games today imo . 3 home wins and an away victory should be enough for Monk to retain the job come summer , whether he gets that chance is another thing.
gendros, you have a poor memory and a small p3nis Don't know what Monk's done to you, 'shag your bird'?, 'key your pimped Corsa'?, but whatever it was its blinded you. IMHO gendros, Monk has earned the respect he has, it wasn't given to him. For over a decade he's given 100% of himself to the Swans cause, as a player, coach and INTERIM manager. It was his left boot, I truly believe, got us to the prem in the first place. A lunging challenge stopping a certain equalizer in the play-offs against Reading. So yeah, I think we owe him more respect and less petulance. He is the manager now because he is the only man the board can trust implicitly with the task at hand; to stave off relegation. Other than Curt, Monk is the only man at this point in time who we can truly trust to put the Swans first and to do whatever it takes for us to survive in the premiership; but I emphasis "at this point in time". IMO, Monk alone is not the way forward for us next season. I would like to see the appointment of a 'Director of Football' or similar. An individual, not necessarily a bone fide manager, but with expertise in recruitment, experienced in the minutia of physical training and tactical awareness, backed up by Monk and Curt as seconds. This scenario sounds very good to me. We have grown out of the traveling manager brigade and those who sees us as simply a stepping stone to their own development. We are not a development club any more. We've survived the turmoils of promotion and the perils of remaining a premiership team. Now we need stability and a time where we don't need worry about "who is going in the next transfer window", "will the manager stay or go in the summer". A left field appointment of an European style director of football would suite our club from board room to u18's to senior squad. It wouldn't be fair to give Monk the job next year, not fair to him or more importantly to the Swans, but I do think Monk is an important component in our machine now and in the future. Off to the game now, its good to be home.
We will not go down under Monk, but he is not the long term solution, he really has been thrown in the deep end, but the performances have improved under him, so I'm feeling very positive for us staying up, a win today will keep his detractors quiet!..............
