We would be mad to even consider this at the moment. Hopefully its just paper talk and nothing else.

Can't be true surely? They may have made a bid for him after seeing he wasn't in the squad on tuesday night and thought they could pinch him but the fact he has actually been a crucial player for us this season puts pay to that. I'm strangely glad to see bayo still has strong feelings for Northampton as a lot of players come across as nothing but mercenaries nowadays but thats the only thing I'm glad about when it comes to this story!

They may want but hopefully they won't get.

ok this might surprise a few of you but our job is near enough done. He clearly has loyalty and a big heart for Northampton, I say if the big man wants to go and help give his club a chance of L2 survival, we should show some compassion and let the big man go on loan. Football is about passion and i don't think we should stand in Bayo's way. PT give him the chance to call it and if he wants to go, he goes with my blessing.

Not sure I would let him go at the moment with Kedwell still out injured. I would only let him go if Kedwell is close but I think his injury is something we need to take day by day.

I know its only a game but personal feelings need to be put aside when it comes to bayo and Northampton, We need to get ourselves safe and I think bayo is going to be a big part of that or should be if his head is in the right place.

The good thing is we are in a position where we can let it happen if we so chose.
A month ago I'd have been in great fear if we'd lost him. But as brb says we are that close to safety it shouldn't matter.

Especially if Keds is close to a return, or if there is another striker lined up to loan in.

To be fair BRB that is a bit like saying we should be given back Payne because Peterborough are almost secure in the playoffs or that we should get crofts back from Brighton cause they have almost missed out. We pay his wages, he can have all the feelings he likes but he is contacted to play for Gillingham and sentimentality is not something often seen in football.

True -well apart from Posh are far from secure in the play-offs but i understand what you mean. If i had given a response to the news a few weeks back it would have been a different view but weighing up all the varied scenarios and there are many of them, I personally don't have an issue with Bayo going for short while, also I believe that players remember and repay great gestures, something not often seen in football.

Ok let's get Simeon back from Millwall (they're basically down now), Matty Jarvis back from West Ham (they're almost safe) Gazzaniga back from Southampton (they're playing for nothing), Luke Freeman back from Stevenage (almost down) Jack Payne and crofts as previously mentioned, oh, and what's Chris Dixon up to these days?!

What a ludicrus suggestion, we are NOT safe, and i would sooner see Northampton relegated then us lose even 1 more game. Bayo has been pivotol this season for us and if he goes now then serious questions need answering.

Gills Ant Man Dog…….go for it boy!
Football is a game and a business. Yes I applause Bayo's response….it shows he has a heart…..BUT that is as far as it should go. If we were vying for a play off spot would we let him go? Would we bo**ocks?

Surely it's all about looking at next season. IF bayo is part of that plan it would be crazy to send him away for the rest of the season. It's about team building and in terms of league 1 longevity we are still a work in progress. Best of luck to Northampton but Bayo (like every player) needs a single focus going forward if he is part of our future.

Also how can we demand total commitment to the gillingham cause and badge from a player in one breath then let them go elsewhere with the next? We knock players for not showing enough passion for a club but are happy for them to switch it at a touch of a button?

It's all about building for next year now isn't it? doesn't that start now?

Surely it is Dickson not Dixon? Or do I really not know who you are all talking about and by assuming it's Chris Dickson I am way off the mark?
