Look at the table and try and tell me that your spend has achieved success? From what I see your squad is full of also rans
What spend? We've made a profit this season, as we have for a while now, and our wage bill is dramatically lower than the clubs around us, barring Everton. We let six players leave in the summer, with a seventh joining them in January, and brought in seven to replace them, spending roughly what we'd earned.
I really don't get the rivalry here. There seems to be a real hatred of Liverpool from hiag and one or two others, why? You seem to have more hatred for us than Arsenal. We aren't rivals and never have been.
You seem to be a little confused, Dave. Rodgers is claiming that we should be doing something based upon a spend that hasn't happened. I haven't claimed that we should be doing anything.
Er, no. You may have noticed that it takes a lot of players time to settle in when they sign from abroad, which all of ours did, rather unfortunately. Alberto, Aspas, Ilori, Sakho, Borini, Assaidi and the like seem to have had similar problems settling, haven't they?
When players are sold it's fairly common to use the money generated to replace them. I'm surprised that you haven't noticed. Suggesting that Spurs have somehow splurged a load of cash on an already stable squad is disingenuous at best and utterly dishonest at worst. I'm inclined to give Rodgers the benefit of the doubt on this one, as he's clearly struggling with the pressure.
Sakho is our best defender, just been out with an injury recently. As for Alberton, Aspas, Ilori, Borini and Assaidi, they are crap, just not £100m worth of crap. They were bought to add depth to our squad, which is thin.
Assaidi was surplus to requirements Borini could not be assured of 1st team play so a loan was good for him Ilori was bought as one for the future and was loaned to help him gain experience Alberto was bought as a squad player. Sakho does not appear to have any problems settling at Anfield - he's been injured. Aspas, although bought as a squad player he is the one may have has problems settling
Sakho's barely played a dozen games. A little early to put him on such a high petard, don't you think? As for the £100m, you can throw in Downing, Allen, Carroll, Adam, Coates and a host of others, if you like. I'm sure that'll probably take you closer to £200m, though. Your squad point is a fair one, though. It'll be interesting to see how it copes with the strain of the extra European games, something which both Merseyside teams appear to have benefited from not having this season. Spending wisely and getting players integrated quickly will be key.
haven't got very good hearing have you? The "it" in Sterling's interview related to the rumours and not to the child.
there's still an outside chance of 4th with Arsenal doing their usual collapse, but i would like to finish outside the Europa places like you did, and give the players a chance to settle in and whoever the Manage is,get to know the playersTim admitted he does'nt yet
Europa winners get a champions league place next season though. Surely it might be an easier route than top 4 of the premier league?
