In a debate with a Newcastle fan online. He's saying Pardew is a better manager than Pochettino, and says they'd not swap, but we would. I disagree. I think Mauricio is considerably better. Your thoughts?
Both great managers for me, but certainly wouldn't swap Pochettino. Will always be grateful for the work Pardew did for us.
Haha, that's brilliant! @SimonPeach "I asked Pochettino if he would speak English next season. "I don't know. I am actually quite thick. I thought I was going to learn quicker"
He may be the only player we have left On a side note, I love shots of Gaston at the training ground. He always looks like he is in his own little dream world. Happy soul.
Pretty much sold out. Newcastle didn't take full allocation so theyve opened that bit up to saints fans.
Really want to win this...to get above Newcastle and to put the Spurs match out of our minds. Hope we get most of our players back and they have practiced defending...no giving away penalties because we are panicking. Marriner could end up sending Osvaldo off
Pardew is a good manager and it was a coup to get him in League 1...however, a good manager isn't necessarily a good manager at all levels. Nigel was the right manager for us in the lower leagues. Pardew would have been a step back for us, rather than a step up when Adkins was sacked. Could he have got our present side playing the way we are now...no, he wouldn't. He'd have got us several good players in and we would be back to where we were before we got relegated from the PL...a mixture of players with no real style.
Oh good, the stat everyone loved from last season is back. OptaJoe ‏@OptaJoe 4m 18 - Southampton have dropped more points from winning positions than any other team in the top flight this season. Slips.
Interesting article about Saints recent rise through the leagues, written by a Newcastle fan. Not absolutely 100% accurate, but good enough that it would be carping about the little errors: Why Southampton's journey through the lower leagues should inspire other clubs
Shaw is injured and Targett is playing a part tomorrow according to Matts grandfather who has been painting my house.
Shaw, Guly, Spider, SD and JRod all feature in the training gallery. Yosh is watching from the Clubhouse.
