As I understand it Hazard can be picked as young player. Therefore if someone picks Hazard over Sterling in team of the season, doesn't make much sense to then pick Sterling as best young player does it? Ditto Shaw who he also didn't include in his team.

I wouldn't vote Hazard young player of the season. He might technically qualify but I would rather give it to someone I think is actually young and deserving of that recognition rather than Hazard who only qualifies because he wasn't born a week earlier.

    No Cissokho?

    ------------Howard---------
    Coleman-Lovren-Terry-Baines
    ----Fernandinho-Gerrard-----
    Lallana---------------Hazard
    -------Sturridge-Suarez-----

Damn Fernandino and his loooooooooooooooooong name!

I considered Aaron Ramsey just to avoid typing it.

    Player: Suarez.
    Young player: Shaw

in fairness yaya has to be in team of year. my only question is over the whole year which CB is best? arsenals were good but take out the midfield and they are uncovered.

Wouldn't be surprised if we looked at the stats that Gerrard has about the same amount of goals and double the assists of Ramsey.

    Gerrard- 11 & 9
    Ramsey- 8 & 6

I reckon about 10 of Gerrards goals are penalties.

Assists is the reason I chose him.

Ya maybe a fair bit, will try to dig that up, but like you say the assists are still there and from a deeper position. Also have to look at how he suddenly balances a team out really well. Not with the legs of Fernandinho or Matic for example, but more with intelligence and positioning....... and being able to spray a ball around the pitch helps.

I think Gerrard has been superb, love watching him spray the ball around and hope England utilise him properly this summer in the same way. I think Matic would be in there somewhere had he been here from the start and playing as good as he has been! Fernandinho also been great too, he and Toure are perfect together.

Funny how Mancini would get KILLED for bringing off a Silva or Nasri to put a Milner or Garcia on to allow Yaya to push up more and get forward. Now Fernandinho does the same and it is genius! Funny how the perception of the manager or who makes the change can twist that perception. Gotta say, I was not sure or sold at all on the Gerrard deeper move but credit to Rodgers, it is working a real treat. Still think we need just a bit more steel through their.

Agreed on Matic, great signing albeit he was your player, then sold him + 20+ for Luiz then bought him back for 20+, lol. If you got it like that I guess! Actually hope we can kick start the little rivalry we had from about 2004-2009. Those were some quality games and really tense affairs, loved every bit of those games.

I get your point and would definitely agree if the players were close in terms of their seasons but Hazard has been amazing this year, probably only second to Suarez and would be fitting to give them 2 the 2 awards in my view.

He will get it then. Bale won one around that age for the young player of the year. Or both last year actually??

It was similar to the Milan-Barca thing I think? We always got you or always got you in the next round.
