Harper is an excellent keeper. He should be taking the England number 1 to Brazil. A very solid and reliable goalie who doesn't try and to Ronaldinho style tricks on his own goal line under heavy pressure, doesn't head butt opponents, doesn't punch spaniards in the head, doesn't kick ****ers and get himself sent off, doesn't make silly mistakes. Hull City's and England's best goalie in my opinion.
Mirror online report McG is out for the season. Probably just speculation, but regardless of the story's foundation, a distinct possibility.
Apparently the club will give an update on his injury tomorrow. Doesn't sound good if he's still in hospital.
Why does recalling Oxley make it fact? We have Yak and Harper even if McG is out for the season. Report I heard was 6 weeks. I would think he should aim for FA Cup Final if we make it, but otherwise write off the season.
It does look like have recalled Oxley. If anything happens to Harper we would only have Jak. Would need another keeper. Hence Oxleys recall.
But according to some of the medical knowledgistas on this forum it was only a bruise and we were all tits for even considering otherwise. Experts eh? Get well soon Allan.
Get well soon Allan. Fingers crossed for your kidney and post retirement booze ambitions. I bet Steve Harper will have ended up making more appearances.
Oxley deffo recalled and why not anyway he's been dropped by Oldham for their last two matches so he's not getting game time there.
He's their first choice keeper, he's made 43 appearances for them this season and has been excellent by all accounts. McGregor seems to be in a bad way, he's in a lot of pain, he's going to be in the high dependency unit for another 3-4 days and he won't be out of hospital for over a week.
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Eldin Jakupovic to be Steve Harper's understudy at Stoke tomorrow, ahead of Mark Oxley. Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Oxley cup-tied in the FAC, Jakupovic isn't. Tough on McGregor but Harper to play at Wembley 15 years after losing there with Newcastle.
