Rumour gathering that Brendan Rodgers would bring Ashley Cole to Anfield next season. One of our problem area is LB. He is experienced LB but has not been playing regular football for Chelsea. Do you want him?. Vote: Yes No Don't know
he is a controversial character, and we don't need any more. not sure what his cock has to do with anything, worrying me dribbles. he will just be after one last big pay day, havent we learnt our lesson in that dept?
I wouldn't want him but that's based on him having a reputation for being a ****. If he can still play and Rodgers wants him then it might work out as a good bit of business.
The last Cole we got from Chelsea was going to be better than Messi. This one though... maybe at very least Rodgers should call him on his mobile.
EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool to a make shock bid for Chelsea star Ashley Cole http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...a-make-shock-bid-for-Chelsea-star-Ashley-Cole
Rolling one year contract at at 70k? that's the only terms that I'd be happy with, can he play right back?!
Regardless of his personality he is a very good left back, and a very good professional, with bags of experience. There is a balance when buying older players but when handled right can be very useful for a team. Games that are on a tightrope like the last 15 mins against Sunderland, its great to have cool experiences heads who can see out games. Carragher last season is a fine example, he was on his last legs but his experience made him a very useful player.
He is one of the big chav ego's though and we don't need that. I don't want us anywhere near him. There is a huge difference between the experience of Gerrard and Carragher compared to cashley. Anyway, I think he will go abroad and take some big money as thats his mentality.
I agree its more likely he will go to the MLS for a couple of seasons. However is he really as much of a tool as everyone makes out? He has not complained once about being on the bench or done anything silly for years. The last thing he did was that shooting the youth player incident that i expect involved everyone at the club and he got the blame [as usually happens with football teams as anyone who has played for one will know]
I think he gets a lot of stick for the sake of it to be honest, he does just get his head down and play football. BUT - even saying that I really don't want him at our club
Don't care about his off the field antics.. But in terms of football, he's been quality on the pitch, however, I'd still say no, only because of his age.. he's 33? So is most likely getting past his best? Had he been 3 years younger, then the answer would have been different.
I wish I was 33! Seems many moons ago If he was in his late 20s then it's a no brainer, I'd take him.. but we want to move forward with a team who's spine will be around for the next 5-10 years (assuming the players stay). Ming - Sahko - Hendo - Ford - Sterling - Sturridge all 25 and under!
II don't believe a FB forms part of a spine anyway. A spine should run through the centre of the team. I also think Enrique (when fit) would keep him out the side anyway.
excellent man in the street test this. I voted and found the majority agreed with my view so thats good to know i'm not mad. my reason for voting NO NO NO and F NO... well if he can't get into chelsea line up despite a RB whos muck playing at LB then whats the point. Mourninho clearly thinks he's past it.
