Being an infrequent user of this forum I did open the link at work. It was the quickest shutdown ever!! My work has a very stringent internet useage policy. Waiting to see now if I get called in. Consider it lesson learned!!
I'd rather Man Utd continue to earn their success and spend their own money. Don't want them to buy success and fake achievement like Man City.
The problem is the Glazers have been doing the opposite, using the money the club makes to pay off there own debt. All we want is a good owner who let's the club run normally, as we make enough to compete for the best players signatures without the need for them to invest heavily
Regular porn? Agreed. Tho' if we got a mega rich owner they still probably wouldn't need to dope us - like KS says, we earn enough to outdo any club in England, and compete with any club in Europe, so I reckon all a sovereign fund would do would be just buy the club and let it run itself. Heck, we're so valuable that the cost to buy Utd would be more than has been invested in Chelsea or City. I reckon that'd be more than enough investment for anyone!
And with the FFP coming in we would easily be able to outbid the chavs and ££££ for any players signature. The only sides that could compete with us, would be the 2 Spanish giants and Bayern , so we'd get back to ruling the roost in England fairly quickly
He said hysterically whilst curled up in the corner of his dark room rocking back and forth. "20" "20" "20" he kept repeating over and over
Is this what Utd fans are getting excited about? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26775674 Ryan Giggs and four former Manchester United team-mates have agreed a deal to purchase non-league Salford City. Giggs, in his 24th season as a player at Old Trafford, is joined in the venture by the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt. United player-coach Giggs, 40, said: "We want to use our football experience and knowledge to nurture young talent." Gary Neville, who had his first United trial in Salford, said: "Salford City represents those early years, the commitment, hunger, enthusiasm, desire and spirit of football and I am very excited about this venture." The former England defender added on Twitter: "For clarity, [there will be] no name change, no ground change and management and committee as before!" His younger brother Phil, now United's first-team coach, added: "It is important to safeguard the hard work that is done in the lower leagues and it is going to be exciting to be able to feed our experience into the young players." Giggs, who made his 961st appearance for United in the 3-0 victory over Olympiakos on 19 March, is the only one still playing of the six United youth-team graduates who have come to be known as the Class of '92. Along with former England captain David Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Butt and the Neville brothers went on to perform in one of the most successful periods in the club's history, having made their senior debuts in the early 1990s. Under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, United won 13 league titles, two Champions League crowns, four FA Cups and four League Cups with at least one of those six graduates in his squad. Scholes, who was born in Salford, said: "We know it will be tough but we will be committed to this from the start and have some very exciting plans going forward." Salford are 11th in the Northern Premier League Division One North, the eighth tier of English league football. Chairman Karen Baird said the agreement would give the club "a very bright future".
I can't wait for the ****ing greedy glazers to **** off. Fergie put off the inevitable slide by a few years. How can United hope to compete with the other clubs when it is the only club where the owners are taking huge sums OUT instead of pumping money IN.
Yes, when they realised at last that they have to match the other clubs in terms of spending. The era of staying at the top on the cheap had ended. They seized the club with the help of the banks and got a fortune out of it. We'll see now how prepared they are to invest large amounts to catch up.
