I know. Hopefully we can get someone permanent in early in the summer. A large portion of our club's players contracts are due to expire so the new person will have quite a bit of leeway.
I dunno, I'd like to think so, but I think we certainly have a better chance than we would under Barker. Let's just start with scoring more than one goal in a game
Portsmouth would be virtually down already if, like they absolutely should have, had their 10 points deduction this season.
There's been endless discussions about this. Lowe messed it up for us by delaying administration and hoping for salvation so that we passed a magic date. If we had kept ourselves up...the 10 points deduction would have been taken off to relegate us and we would have started in league 1 at zero. We didn't save ourselves, so the -10 was in our first League 1 season.
How many times do I have to repeat it? Whether your season comes in straight away or the following season doesn't go down to whether you would have been relegated anyway but goes down to when you go into administration. There's a deadline, in about March, where if you go into admin before it, the points are deducted that season. After the deadline it comes in the following season.
But, the rule was stated that if a club was still in administration at the start of the following season, they will get a deduction.
Football League should deduct Pompey the number of points at the end of the season to ensure they are relegated. Reason? Because it would be very very funny.
We did get a points deduction last season. We didn't start this season in admin. I wouldn't count on it.
Press Association reporter Sean Taylor says Nottingham Forest have contacted Dean Saunders to take the job on.
I'm not one to bear grudges, and I do want Pompey to be in the football league next year. BUT.... Do you remember the glee in 2005 when "they sent us down" when we last played Man U on the last day of the season (they didn't, us being **** over 38 games sent us down). How ironic that the same glee may be shown by the fans of pompey by staying in the football league on the last day when we play Man Utd..... I think there is a song about that.... No 7
