Actually worried about this game. I know the players will know what is at stake but something weird about Spurs, they have been pretty damn good away from WHL this year and have picked up a lot of road wins, some easy, some grinded out. Will be interesting. I think they have the most points in the league away from home or something like that.
Bizarrely, I think that accolade belongs to Man U. Spuds aren't far behind, but if it's form you're looking at, we've only dropped 5 points at home all season.
Points away from home, saw somewhere spurs have the most or something like that? They seem to do better outside of WHL, pressure maybe? Who knows. Sherwood is a funny character though, he has shown to make changes when needed but if he plays that high line again........ #moneyinthebank
Spurs could get something from this but my gut feel is they will be greedy and arrogant, going attacking and going for a win, in which case I expect us to boss. But if they are organised and defensive, maybe even kick the **** out of a few of our players, then they could stifle us, Perhpas even get something from a set piece
Rodgers needs little more motivation than to look at the table. There's a deal here to be done with the team. Beat Spurs and you nigh on secure CL football for yourselves and the club. After that you can "go for it". Spurs are in a totally different place. Whatever their result against us they know that this season has been a failure and the best that can be achieved is damage limitation. Therefore I strongly doubt that there is too much resolve within their ranks. They got lucky against Saints if the truth were told but luck has not generally smiled upon them at Anfield. With the players that they have I truly can't see them presenting the 'parked-bus' problems that Sunderland did. Hence I see more opportunities for our forwards and a win for us.
Go for the throat here right from the start and rip any resistance from them. C'mon lads lets keep this run going.
It is possible of course that we will swap places with them from last season. 1st to 7th and 7th to 1st!! Few would have thought it possible.
To be honest, they need to get something out of this game for themselves.. They lose or draw, then should Everton win against Fulham (A), which is more than possible, they'll be 4pts behind them, with a game in hand and with the Gunners to play them away. So, I say to Arsenal, don't do it for us, do it for yourselves
Aye, City have to play Arsenal, Everton and us away from home.. However if the City that turned up against Utd come call on those days, they'll take some beating!
