p*ss off. Would you accept Mourinho as your manager after all the things he has said about Arsenal? Rafa said some horrible s**t about Chelsea and its fans whilst in charge of Liverpool. He was despised in SW London. My attitude towards him mellowed somewhat since he managed us, but he is still a clown.
I have nothing but respect for him as a manager, but I still don't like the bloke. If Benitez had apologised and gave explanation for the things he once said as soon as he walked through the door at Chelsea then he wouldn't have been booed anywhere near as much.
Because he was forced out irrespective of results. The fans were after him the first second he took charge and constantly harassed him, they even created a friggin website on it http://metro.co.uk/2012/11/22/has-r...cks-chelsea-managerial-merry-go-round-539415/. He was as good as sacked, so to avoid embarrassment, he walked.
And what was that down to eh mastermind? If your manager wasn't busy winding other managers up, then I doubt he would have said anything. But I forgot, you're so f**king perfect that you've never said or done anything to be embarrassed about? By the way, why does Benitez and Wenger get on so much? Benitez has always got good words to say about Wenger and Arsenal. You respect people then they respect you back. Simple.
He had a contract until the end of the season as INTERIM boss: http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...-replace-roberto-di-matteo-as-manager?cc=5739 Feel free to make up all the bollocks you want though.
Except he wasn't embarassed about it hence not apologising hence not being welcomed by our supporters. Just as Fergie wouldn't be at City/Liverpool or just as Mourinho wouldn't be at Arsenal. Get off your high horse.
No he isn't. Wenger is a one-off. The problem with Wenger is that he's been there too long and has ended up falling between three stools - winning things, staying true to his principles and building a strong club. Benitez has a different view of how the game should be played - but I wouldn't expect anybody from Chelsea to give him any credit. If Benitez was appointed at Arsenal it would be a complete revolution and I don't know if either the club or the supporters could stand the culture shock. Therefore I doubt that it would happen. However, finding a manager that could make the much needed transition makes the decision as to who to appoint even harder. We've seen what has happened at United. Moyes may or may not be a good manager but he hasn't really got a cats chance in hell of proving it at OT. Exactly the same could happen at Arsenal. Strangely, the merrygoround that has exists at Chelsea may make them more amenable to managerial change whilst the structure of the club remains stable. That will not be the case for a new manager at Arsenal.
No high horse mate, we all make mistakes so he shouldn't be crucified over something that was the heat of the moment. Your dear manager says and does much worse but seems to get away with it. But he should have apologised and my guess he was probably badly advised. As for the contract, we don't know exactly what was said behind closed doors, even if the contract was short term.
You can't compare Mourinho winding managers up to Rafa taking a snipe at an entire fan base. Rafa said more than a couple of things about us and I'm betting Liverpool fans would've been exactly the same if Mourinho said similar things and went on to manage them. Who the **** cares what was said behind closed doors? He had a contract until the end of the season as a temporary manager and was NOT sacked, that is FAKHT.
‘We don’t need to give away flags for our fans to wave – our supporters are always there with their hearts, and that is all we need. It’s the passion of the fans that helps to win matches – not flags.’ - Benitez. I looked up at what Benitez said and this was one of them. Not exactly something to kill yourselves about but not great either. One thing that is undisputed, Liverpool have one of the best fan bases in the country, probably the best in the Premier league, so he's probably eluding to this. Fans generally get their knickers in a twist too easily, it's just a bit of banter really.
Really not that bad? Have you heard about professional respect? Do you really want me to dig up some of the things that he's said and some damn personal.
Damn People have short memories!!! I once wrote an article on the old 606 and listing evey player Benitez signed for Liverpool - it was RIDICULOUS. The guy was working on a simular budget to Ferguson but was FAR less successful. Now you can make alist of failed signings from any manager but the sheer number Benitez makes is terrible. In my opinion he was the WORST manger in the EPL when it comes to signings. (On the other hand he is a VERY good tactician) Here's a few just off the top of my head... Robbie Keane £20.3m Josemi £3m Antonio Nunez - part of Michael owen swap. Fernando Morientes £6.3m Jan Kromkamp Mark González £4.5m Craig Bellamy £6m Ryan Babel £11.5m Philipp Degen - Free Andrea Dossena £7m Jermaine Pennant £6.7m Charles Itandje £1m Mauricio Pellegrino free Andriy Voronin free Gabriel Paletta £2m Alberto Riera £8m Alberto Aquilani £18m Personally I would'nt want him anywhere near our club. He would bankrupt us and we would have to put up with boring as defensive football.
To be fair, those are some good players who flopped, Babel was highly rated when he bought him, Aquilani too was a rated player, Bellamy wasn't too bad, Keane just flopped at the big stage. You could list a sack of **** signed by Wenger too: -Santos -Gervino -Jeffers -Bischoff -Park -Squilachi So many more.
Any manager who signs slightly more successes than flops has a good transfer record. They all have a long list of flops
If your a real fan you can at least be subjective. Benitez spent £230 on transfers in just 4-5 Seasons. Victor Palsson Sotirios Kyrgiakos Antonio Barragan Miki Roque Jack Hobbs Paul Anderson Scott Carson Robbie Keane £20.3m Josemi £3m Antonio Nunez - part of Michael owen swap. Fernando Morientes £6.3m Jan Kromkamp Mark González £4.5m Craig Bellamy £6m Ryan Babel £11.5m Philipp Degen - Free Andrea Dossena £7m Jermaine Pennant £6.7m Charles Itandje £1m Mauricio Pellegrino free Andriy Voronin free Gabriel Paletta £2m Alberto Riera £8m Alberto Aquilani £18m Besian Idrizaj Fabio Aurelio Mark Gonzalez Daniel Pacheco Krisztian Nemeth David Ngog Nikola Saric etc... The only successful transfer he made were already BIG names in their respective leagues. Torres, Xavi,Reina, Mascherano - They were No brainers. Like I said he is f**king awful when it comes to signings.
Oy!! Don't diss Bischoff. He's made 27 appearances this season, and made a shed load last too. His injury record - which he arrived at Arsenal with - seems to have magically cleared up since he left!!
Also Mourinho is a f**king MILLION times better than Benitez. Hate to say it but its true. Mourinho has all the tacical nouse but he's decent in the transfer window and the best motivator around.
Rafa managed a chav club with narrow minded chav attitudes. He still managed to win a trophy with the **** he got. I have nothing but respect for the guy. Also everything he said about chelsea was spot on. Truth hurts thats all it was.
