I think as long as players like Wordsworth learn that you need to put the hard work in and do what Mick asks then there will be room in the team for creativity. That's his style and he will stick to it. From what I've heard so far it seems that Williams does the hard work just as well as playing attacking football. If we can find more like him we won't need to play two defensive players in the middle.

Come on Hamps, share a bit of love & happiness! <smooch> I am getting og my arse and driving a round 320 miles saturday just to breathe the moment...feel the breeze...and cheer for the mighty Blues. Haven't been so happy and pleased for everyone for bloody years!

Lets just all enjoy the moment...which might last a few more games. I have always said since August, top 6 is possible but would be very happy for top 10.

Of course we would love to all see the fast, free, creative flair of fomrer days, but I am a realist - solid foundations, stop being hammered and humiliated which were def were, bring in and encourage young more attack-minded players who by the by can still roll up their sleeves and get back to defend.

Cant wait til Saturday - whats that pub Warky we almost met up? Mine's the 1st round if anyone can recognise me!<cheers> just say the word " Old gaffer!" and I will be yours!

At the end of the day it is an entertainment business though, although it's not just that but I think by having those principles of pass and move you're more likely to progress further as a team, as I've said why do we want our youngsters to play like that and be coached to pass and move if in the first team we don't bother with it? Surely it's about believing in a way to play football? I agree though I'd rather not get relegated playing pretty football but then I actually think I'd rather stay in the upper part of the table in this division playing good attacking football and bein in a relegation scrap every year in the PL playing spoiling footy!!

No doubtin Mick has done an outstanding job since he's been here I just find him incredably frustrating and he doesn't always use his talent to the max.

In terms of style of play (I'm not trying to be funny) but why do people say I don't care how we play as long as we keep progressing but go on to say but next season I think we'll play better football, surely that goes against what you've just said? We said this last season though aswell didn't we, next season we'll play better football when we're not in a relegation battle and we'll give the youngsters a chance but it hasn't changed much. Under Mick we'll never be a progressive good attacking footballing team that's just not his way, yes once we get a few better players in we might be a bit more creative but that's more down to the players than style of play.

I tell you what would be great, if the club were to do ticket promotions for saturdays game to really try and get a big crowd in to cheer on the boys for a push at the playoffs, it really feels like we're on the crest of a wave for the first time in a very long time and the club should tap into that!!!

Too much trying to score points on here, who gives a **** who is/was right or wrong, lets just enjoy these last few games and hope we get into the playoffs.
Mick has kinda stumbled on this winning formula over the last few games, injuries have actually helped him but for that i am grateful.
It is rather pathetic of certain people (westy) to be givin it large and trying to wind up others, i would be happy to be proved wrong as it would mean we have made the playoffs but on the other hand i would not be on here saying me and hampy were right if the last few games go tits up!!
Oh and at present MM would be ranked in the middle of previous managers, time will tell where his ranking would end up but at the moment.......

Spot on jonny, Sheepshanks this admin genius, this epitomy of ITFC, was drawing £80,000 per annum for a three day week, whats that worth in todays figures?
Wasnt it good to see the two players who had been targetted by Derby County for a systematic kicking get the equaliser and winner respectively, shame on you McClaren.

Yeah got to admit if we had finished 5 - 10 points adrift without getting to within 2 points like we have now, I would definitely have been posting a thread like that.

Similarly Weighty, you have admitted yourself that what happened the other night was extraordinary and maybe I can learn a life lesson from moving away from thinking of things in terms of risk and probability and remember that very unlikely good things do happen as Sir Alf, Sir Bobby and Saint George all proved to us.

In the situation we find ourselves now I think we can remember that we're all blue shirt wearers who cheer the same goals going in and blocks and saves at the other end and unite behind the team for what is going to be a nail biting finish that could go right to the wire and could end up with us on Match Of The Day this season. Let's face it, if we can beat Brighton and Derby back to back we have every right to be in those play offs and if we do scrape in there we'll be going into them in unstoppable form.

Nah, i still hate the guy Warky and will never like him but he is our manager so i have to accept that and hope he has success. TBH we could win the champions league under him and i would still hate the guy, just one of those things, sometimes you just cant stand someone, like many on here and Roy!!
That said, if i think he is doing a really good job i would say so, likewise if he was poor!!

I can just begin to imagine the open top bus parade through the Cornhill on a gorgeous spring day in May with Mick holding up that playoff trophy to an exultant crowd! <ok>

Make us Dream! (to coin a phrase)

It does not really matter if you are a pro or anti MM....one thing you do have to admit is that he has wrung out every available drop of talent & skill from the most average of average squads within this division.

The performance for me against Derby the other night was first class & proves just how much the team believes in MM & TC
    .
For those at the game you must surely agree, the only reason we did not produce much first half was due, in the main that every time we strung more than a handful of passes together Derby put a stop to it by using foul tactics, mostly on JW.!
MM countered that by making changes during the 2nd half making us more robust & powered our way to a deserved (just) win.!

MM may not be everyones cup of tea but he is surely the toast of the Town at this time.!

I could only listen to the commentary on Suffolk but I've never heard Brenner get so excited when we scored especially when Berra's beauty went in! Shades of Counago's last gasp winner against Coventry a few years back but for totally different reasons this time around!

What Mick has done with this group of players has been nothing short of phenominal in such a short space of time.

Absolutely we are all ipswich fans and want to see our team progress, although we do all have our own ideas as to how/speed/manner in which progression should/could be achieved.

Fair play Hampy in admitting that you would have been gloating( gloating is not really the right word but you know what I mean) had we drifted of to mid table before the sharp end of the season and don't take it to heart to much when the more positive amongst us sometimes point out that staying positive is not such a bad thing:laugh:.

It was a perfect night for us which does not happen that much but this league can throw up things like Tuesday night that's why I say never give up.
