Fair enough, but it does make you sound a bit prejudiced towards the player if you're so anxious to batter him. He did have a poor showing tonight. Yet he did try to contribute offensively, though not efficiently. For example, he provided a good would-be-assist in the first half that was incorrectly called offside. SAS was off key tonight as well, and Hendo for instance could have tried to contribute more offensively. GJ tried and stunk it a little, it happens.

BR should tie him down so he can't get on the pitch.

I thought he was beginning to show some return to some semblance of form recently, but he was back to square one tonight, imo.

Without getting into a row with you mate, I don't honestly think you really get what's being said and why, I love LFC as much as the next red, I attend games, I've witnessed us win multiple trophies over the decades, you and all the other lads on here are as much entitled to an opinion as me despite that, but what you've got to take on board is that criticism isn't hate and accepting the opposite opinion without throwing your dummy out is the order of the day on our board.
I've disagreed with some of the lads but they or me just laugh it off and move on Livtor.

You know your stuff and your opinion counts mate but just don't turn every difference of opinion into an insult.<ok>

Difference being...all the other players with the exception arguably of Allen have under par performances as an exception not the rule.

If "he tried" is the best one of our superstars has to do to warrant pulling on the shirt? We'd be back in 7th.

He spent the first half attacking, without speed of action or thought, didn't pass effectively, didn't shoot effectively. Came to a stop every time he was given the ball. Thought about it for ten seconds then short passed or gave it away.

He spent the second half not defending, not blocking, not tackling, not closing down.

All after he's now "fit" , AND has the managers backing so much he's picked fit or not....

He's Downing Mark 2 and I only hope BR is treating him the same way.....right up to the first offer he snaps the hand off for.

A Downing style kick up the arse will do Johnno the world of good, maybe then we'll see what's really in his heart.

By comparing a fullback's output to a winger's in Downing... you're flattering the former. And yes, GJ is twice the winger Downing was. And 3x the defender. That said, he didn't do himself any favours tonight, and I agree there could be better RBs in the market for us, but it's not an easy given (Cissokho serves as a reminder).

IMO he tried too hard and stumbled on more occasions than usual. But I guess you noticed the 'try hard' part, which was missing earlier in the season <ok>.

  12. I don't mind players making a error if they are putting the effort it. I can't tolerate "lazy" players.

Really. That is bizarre. First half he was about ok but 2nd he was awful and bought a lot of the pressure from Sunderland down on us with his poor positioning and unwillingness to track back. Attacking wise he looked clueless. He used to be very dynamic going forward and I think many forgave him his defensive limitations because what he did at the top end. But now that seems to have gone. He's either lost that attacking ability or he can't be bothered.
I've been a great supporter of Johnson over the years ,defending him when others called him crap but not anymore.
I think I would rather have manures rafael there, he's as bad defensively but at least he puts his all in at both ends of the pitch

I found it funny how there were a few articles in the media after the Cardiff game saying how great Glen is. He's not. He's awful bar that game.

Did Glen actually complete a pass last night?

As awful as he was, I actually respected him for at least trying to attack. Over the past year, he's been quick to get forward, stop then turn back.

....Then run in a circle, look at every player near him, feint a pass or two then after 7 minutes on the ball: pass straight to the opposition.
Last night he was ****. It seemed every pass was wayward and every attack broke down with him. After what BR had said, I would have expected it to fire him up. Not so.

This argument has gone on long enough, he is not good enough anymore (if he ever was) Flanno is the better option and will play RB when Enricky is fit. Sell Johnson and have Wisdom as cover buy Bertrand as someone to push Enricky for his place.

I thought he was poor in the first half as well. In fact, I half expected him to be subbed at half time. He was making the effort, and I appreciate that, but nothing seemed to be coming off.
I'm not one to single players out and I don't want to get on the back of one of our own, but he just seems lost.
I'd love him to get some form back, but I just can't see it happening this season.

trouble is if he gets any form back will it just be a case of playing for a new contract?

that may or may not be the case, but if he starts performing a lot will assume its because he wants a silly wage again ie contract renewal, so i hope we don't fall for it and try and get rid if we can.

never understood what rafa saw in him ahead of Arbeloa, esp what we paid for him and his wages, but **** happens, we move on.

we have some potential coming through in Wisdom and Flanno, and Mclaughlin will hopefully push on.

hopefully his time is up, but be nice if he could leave on a high and our dream come true :)

So it was <doh> I'd forgotten all about Wisdom, I just remembered it was one of the youngsters with a flash car - and Flanno probably drives a Freelander made in scouseland, driven by scousers!

Bring in a starting right back in the form of a Montoya, Sakai, Sorg with Wisdom as back up, and McLaughlin as the future. Flanno can be the utility player who can play on either flanks.
