Allen played well in the first half. Went missing a bit in the second along with the rest of the team though. Coutinho deservedly MOTM
Not gonna get into a what does allen do debate but respect what you are saying - we have won 7 on the spin and he has started our last 4 so it's not harming us. Would expect to see sterling against spurs though
Johnson, Allen, Flanagan and Suarez were all poor today. It's a real liability being weak at both full-back positions, especially when we're so narrow we're just so easily exploited down each side it's unreal. I make both positions priority in the Summer.
That's the point, and here's the choice: why would you pick Allen over Sterling? You just wouldn't. At all. No way. Our midfield should be Gerrard, Hendo, Coutinho and Sterling. End of.
Well it had to come but we made life a lot harder for ourselves. Fair play to Sunderland they tried very hard to park the bus and then throw everything at us. We can point to a very lenient Ref but its down to us as we started to try and score the 'perfect' goal. I don't really know what either Allen or Johnson were doing tonight. Still it will be a very different game on Sunday. As well what was Hendo doing it seemed to me as though he was trying to save himself for the weekend.
Sorry mate but Johnson was **** in both halves. is forward runs were ending in nothing and in defence/midfield he was losing the ball to the opposition.

What gets me about Johnson is he gets too attracted to the ball, there's so many times where he should just run back to position and leave Henderson or Coutinho defend against the player but he tries to swarm over them and get the ball ASAP where sometimes it isn't possible. Lose Jesus Navas when we play them and it's curtains.
Disagree in the first half, but when we under the cosh in the second he was dire (never a free kick though in a million years). Allen was a turdburger throughout,
Relieved we won but sick of the lack of passing to the better placed forward when in the box, Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho all guilty as *uck, its becoming endemic, have a word Brendan. Sturridge looked peaved post match interview.
