Impossible to say just yet, there's still plenty of time for things to change. We've improved immensely from the shambles we were last Autumn and Nigel is starting to have the squad he wants. I fancy us to do well, not necessarily go up, but at least have a decent season. Good luck to the saints anyway for next season (minus 2 games against us!), the performances of Norwich, Leeds and Millwall last year should give you a bit of confidence to be able to challenge in the division.

Hope you're being funny, otherwise you've made yourself look a right clown. As good a player as Bullard is, it's a bit much to think he'd be that influential for us and that we'd take the division by storm. It's a bit insulting to the competativeness of the league to be honest and one man doesn't make a team.

    He's being provocative, surely?

Or then again not. He's entitled to his sopinion even if others see it as completely bonkers.

I hope it's him being provocative, I know he's a Bullard fan but that prediction does seem far-fetched! If it is his genuine opinion, then fair enough, just makes him look daft saying that one player alone will garauntee you will comfortably walk this league!

Hopefully! Although I'm often over optimistic (while fearing the worst as well).

I can't get comfy until we are 3 goals up.

I reckon there are some good signings to come and Adebola will be a useful Folan like supersub.

3 Goals up..that's when Saints fans start to shake. After we lost an FA Cup match 4.3 after leading 3.0, our fans now sing you're going to win 4.3 if we hit the magic 3.0 lead. Must say it was better last season..first time I've ever felt confident coming from a goal down. Think we're all hoping for some signings..too quiet for my liking.

Do you realisticallly think you can keep him? Can't say I know too much about him (does he play as a wide forward?) but is he worth anything like the money that seems to be banded around?

Was Andy Carol worth £35 mill? If so then I don't see why they can't get around £10 mill for him. They got a combined fee of around £12 mill for Walcott

The price for Chamberlain has been set high because we don't want to sell him. It's not greed..it's go away or pay silly money. No way is he ready for Premiership football at the moment. Thought I'd escape from speculation about Alex on the Hull site<laugh>

Carroll was an England player when he moved. Walcott is a better comparison. Will he be a better player than Wickham? Will he be 3 times as good as Graham? Will he be 4-6 times better than Austin?

I guess I'm really asking, was he the head-and-shoulders star of the Saints team or one of a few that played well together?

AOC played well and showed flashes of what he could be. He's a player that can make things happen. Having said that, we won when he was out injured. We would miss lallana more...now there's a player worth 10 mill.

He had a cap but he still isn't worth £35 mill. He only had a good half of a first premier league season. If that constitutes a big fee then why isn't Cairney worth around £20 mill? I honestly believe that Chamberlain will end up getting a big money move and then not live up to the price tag. Theo Walcott's much along the same line. Got a big money move and for a while nobody could see what they hype was about. Even now he's terribly inconsistent. Come on, you would have thought that after so long at Arsenal he'd've developed a bit more then he has?

An ex-Arsenal player said on Sky that Theo may be on his way out. We've all been disappointed at Saints at his development. We're hoping that Chamberlain's paying attention. It's far too soon for him to move on from a decent club in a good league. I think he will stay, but most Saints fans will merely roll their eyes and move on if he leaves. He isn't essential to us. On a separate issue, the prices that perfectly average players are selling for is ridiculous. I suspect its the need for English players.

The £12m for Theo shrunk a lot because we needed the money and settled early.

Now we don't need the money as badly, we can afford to resist the moves from the big few unless they cough up big time. Thing is that we won't spend money just because we have it as chairman aims to make us self sufficient.

We will need two or three good quality players for the team as against squad players and should then be ok.

Do you think you need many yourselves?

Very specific, I like to reserve precise predictions until the transfer window is truly active however.

Most posters on here are now beginning to realise that we might not actually be nailed on for the top six for next season. In fact many are assigning their opinions to us finishing in a similar position to the last campaign. For now I'll say 10th-14th, but that could obviously change with transfer activity.

As for you Saints, if you can keep your most influential players (Chamberlain, Lambert etc.) I think you'll be somewhere around the play-offs
