Exactly. A win is a win is a win. 3 points. 2nd behind Chelski by one point. That'll do for tonight.

    Phew!

Johnson...worst ****ing useless display ever! Please don't give him a contract.

Poor display last 15. We looked tense and nervy. Can't play brilliant all the time but once 2 nd went in we just thought that was game over and let's save ourselves for Sunday. Their subs made a big difference

That was horrible - f**king did it though lads!! You can't get any more than 3 points from one game and we secured em.

Think that kind of grit and holding on could help in the remaining games.

7 wins on the bounce, 7 to go boys <diva>

It seemed we couldn't get out of 2nd gear tonight. The second half we get dropping deeper and deeper which we have done a few times this season which always makes me nervous. But as they say a win is a win.

Never mind Johnson, who wasn't that bad in the first half, what does the Love Child, Allen, bring to the party? Nowt. And Flanagan completely lost his man for that corner. We were ****ing lucky that second didn't go in - who was marking for that?

As for Suarez, we could have had four or five and put it to bed with 20 minutes left had he not tried to score himself when he could have put others through.

Can't fault Sunderland, made it very difficult for us. That being said the ref really really helped them out. Should have been a man down after that foul and how many times did Vergini get away fouls and not get a 2nd yellow. Giving Sunderland freekicks that weren't or iffy and in turn barely giving us any decisions.

Sunderland made the game tough but so did the terrible referee.

Allen was really lively first half and was running forward past people and didn't bring that to the 2nd half - Don't really want to concentrate on who was crap as we won but Jesus that was appaling even by Johnson's standard this season

Not that bad? I counted 6 moves alone in the first half which broke down as soon as Johnson got the ball in a good area! He was shocking.

Allen didn't do much right, didn't do much wrong. Just his usual shuffling game. Flanno ****ed up on his marking, but hopefully he'll learn...

Agree with Suarez, although I would say Sturridge too didn't look like passing much tonight either. Two of them have linked up far better and it always works better than when they try to go it alone.

That was a strange one, that. Slightly weird and bizarre as well. It was as if you had woken them up at 3am, served them too much coffee and then drove them to Anfield. Maybe a sign of maturity though.

He has zero presence though. Coutinho has flair and wants the ball, Henderson is everywhere and gets stuck in. Allen though, he just makes up the numbers.
