As soon as I saw Rogne's name I would've taken a point. When I saw the rest of the team I was sure we'd lose. I know we have to rest players and I suppose Uwe is just playing the percentages - we were more likely to lose away to QPR than we were at home to Watford - but I'd have rested Boyce, Beausejour and even Fortune on Saturday, and played them at LR last night. Rogne and Crainey together in defence fills me with fear. If we do meet in the play offs I think you'll see quite a different line up. And fingers crossed he avoids injuries, but Maloney will be back, as he will for Arsenal. He brings quite a different dimension to the team.
Yes, like diving. We will have our best two players back in Austin and Philips. Austin is the top scorer and Morrison moved into second place after just 4 games with us, that should tell you how useless the rest are at scoring. Also there will be no hill at lb and no Dunne at cb so we will be much faster.
It makes you wonder how the QPR team of 75/76/77 played for all of those three years using only sixteen* players. * No research was done to arrive at that figure, but it won't be far off.
Ahh OK, you were basing it on the belief that Wigan would not be able to finish 3rd. As they're still the form team in the playoff spots I certainly wouldn't rule them out doing that. Any of Us, Derby or Wigan could still finish 3rd, 4th, or 5th yet so no pairing can really be ruled out.
As soon as I saw Moloney was not playing, I thought 'Yes'!! As other have commented, if it is a QPR;Wigan Wembley day, both line ups will be rather different than last Tuesday. I am glad that at least Rob Green has big stage experience.......!
I have no doubt we will take our allocation for Wembley if it comes to it. Loftus Road to Wembley Stadium is 5 miles - that almost gives us a home advantage!
I expect us to be completely embarrassed at the FA Cup semi, can't believe how many diehards aren't going but are saving their cash for our away trips to Blackburn, Brum and Burnley, then whoever we get in the play off first rounds and hopefully a Wembley play off final. Flyer, you're getting Maloney mixed up with Gomez. He's our resident faller overer.
Flyer was correct, it was Maloney that cheated when we played you last season. He looked over his shoulder at M'bia shadowing him, he then stops in his tracks and waits for M'bia to bump into him and throws himself to the ground to con the ref into getting a free kick.
Gomez is also very good at getting people sent off, I think he's now done it twice against us but yes, I saw that incident as clearly as you yet the gullible ref fell for it.
