    Wickham and Altidore up front. Wow. Wickham is not the worst player, as he is quite strong, but Altidore is a waste of space.

    Liverpool takes the lead. Sunderland's games in hand are melting away, and fatigue could be a real factor for them...Gus' turnaround appears to have hit the usual impediment, namely that the players aren't particularly good.

    Sunderland should be worried. They don't score enough goals, and their strikers are hopeless. That Vergini should have been sent off twice tonight.

    His last tackle on Suarez was so late though that he didn't even touch him. Yet Suarez went down like a sack of spuds. That sort of play acting will keep Vergini on the pitch.
