Sunderland must move quickly to land Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.

Campbell has revealed he's told manager Ian Holloway he wants to leave this summer and return to the Premier League.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is keen on his former Birmingham City striker.

But the Mail on Sunday says West Ham United will offer 2 million for Campbell this week.

It's kicking off again! Click here for your No1 source for Sunderland transfer market news and gossip.

hope Bruces gets him quick decent player, and was very good at ours.

Wolves are battling Sunderland for Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan.

The Express & Star says sources close to the Wales international have confirmed Wolves have now joined the race for the 28-year-old, who was one of Blackpool's stars of their entertaining but ultimately doomed Premier League campaign.

But they will face stiff competition for the 5ft 5ins playmaker with West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and QPR all vying for his signature.

The left-footed schemer is currently on holiday and will take his time over a decision with the race hotting up for his signature after an impressive season in the Premier League, when he was named as Blackpool's Player of the Year.

Would love Campbell in but think we need some big imposing lads in the middle.

    Canny player Vaughan though.

Is Wolves transfer strategy to see who Sunderland want and start bidding for them?

    Is he really worth it?

He may have played well in that Blackpool team, but his previous stats don't really shine.

    2000–2001 Chesham United 29 (16)
    2001–2003 Stevenage Borough 25 (3)
    2002 → Billericay Town (loan) 16 (6)
    2003–2005 Yeading 88 (65)
    2005–2006 Brentford 23 (9)
    2006–2007 Birmingham City 43 (9)
    2007–2010 Leicester City 41 (5)
    2009 → Blackpool (loan) 20 (9)
    2009–2010 → Derby County (loan) 8 (3)
    2010 → Blackpool (loan) 15 (8)
    2010– Blackpool 31 (13)

Me too. I don't think he scores that many goals but he can cause problems in the box which would be good with Gyan around.

For £2m I'd take him in a flash.

No doubts at all. A great addition and powerful target man which we are very much lacking at the moment. SAFC would be a huge club for him and he would be very hungry to succeed. He and Bruce already know each other very well too.

Tribal football..........you may as well ask Big Chris what's happening! :D

But i'd still take Campbell. 13 prem goals for a relegated team shows he has something about him even if Blackpool did create millions of chances. Rather him than N'Gog tbh

Can't go too far wrong for £2M, but he reminds me of Bent (needs 3 chances to convert one) only not as good.

I wouldnt waste any time with these guys, just offer them the chance to come and play for Sunderland football club and if they chose not to then move on to the next target, the last thing we need is a team full of Muntaris who dont give a **** about the club

start of summer, ALS reported that he had a relegation release clause of £1.5mil, dunno if there was any truth in that but i'd take him for that much, my dad's a leicester fan and always thought he never got a decent chance there (different league i know)

I doubt Bruce is actually Keen on DJ, just keep getting the link by the tabloids because of his Birmingham days, I could be wrong though.
