Whilst apparently Klopp is a very loyal guy, I think he has taken Dortmund as far as they can go. Similar to Arsenal (up to last summer) he seems to lose a top player every year (Kagawa, the young lad to Munich and now Lewandowski) and doing that, it is hard to maintain a competitive side. I think it may be time for him to have a new challenge and as he isn't going to get the Bayern job, that must mean going abroad. I'm pretty sure United would be interested as would Arsenal if Wenger left. Hope it doesn't happen as the danger is he takes Arsenal to the next level which Wenger has consistently failed to do in the last few years.
Kloop is the one every chairman has on their list, either as their next target or in our case, the "dream on" list! But remember Dortmund fans have been on his back at various stages and this season he has come in for criticism as he has failed to use the squad (to mix things up) and only plays one way, he isn't flexible in his approach so while hes a coach I respect and like, he isn't someone who could just walk in and guarantee success, it will take time building a squad to match his style of management.
I think what most of us suspect is that, should Whinger leave AFC, the power in North London will shift almost over night. Am I correct?
I fell about laughing on saturday listening to 606,a Fulham fan was complaining ,and saying ther are managers like klopp etc out there, didn't seem to realise that they cost money and want to go to clubs in the C/L like top players do
Does anybody know what this means ?., I've already consulted my new code breaker book (the one I got for Christmas, especially for this kind of thing)., but to no avail.
Have some sympathy for Fulham fans, their owner is a billionaire but they have Darren Bent up top. We know how they feel!
I'd be interested to see how Arsenal would do without Wenger. I'm not sure if they would drop like a stone without him like Man Utd have or whether they would get better. I'm possibly thinking that it could get worse without a few big signings. Apart from their midfield (when fit) I don't think they have that great a team.
I could see them initially struggling without Wenger. Similar to Fergie, Wenger's managed to make some of his players look better than what they probably are and no doubt if a new gaffer came in, he'd likely make a quick assessment on what he thinks is deadwood and where he thinks they need to strengthen and so chances are he'll bring a few new faces in which may need time to adapt while possibly upsetting those previously favoured by Wenger which could cause a bit of unrest (hopefully ).
For AFC, it's going to be the pain of having to live with the knowledge that the man in whom they placed such loyal trust was, ultimately, a failure. Recovering from that could take at least a decade.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Wenger their most successful manager? More successful than any Tottenham manager ever no? Spurs would love to 'fail' like Arsenal have done over the past 1001 games. I think Arsenal would be insane to let Wenger leave. You might think that he has done badly over the last 9 years but it's not a coincidence that their trophy haul has come to an end at the same time the Oil Barrens have come to the premiership.
We need Arsenal only as a yardstick against which to measure the degree of shift in power in North London. Otherwise, no, Smithy, we shouldn't really concern ourselves with them. Although, I will say, that watching them tear strips off one another, as they spiral down with their dreams to the gutter, is top entertainment.
