Arsenal and Manchester United have been offered fresh hope that Southampton will be willing to let defensive starlet Calum Chambers leave this summer, with The Mirror reporting that Leeds United full-back Sam Byram has been lined up as a potential replacement. Chambers has emerged as a surprise target for both United and the Gunners thanks to a very strong debut season in the Premier League, which has seen him emerge as the one of the country's most promising young defenders. The 18-year-old is the latest starlet to emerge from Southampton's conveyor belt of talent, with Arsenal and United both reportedly tracking his progress with a view to a summer bid.
If all this is true Elland and however we dress it up, w couldn't stand in Byram's way given how we're playing at the moment. That said, I would expect at least £8m + add ons for Byram. However, he would need to weigh up his likely chance of progressing at the Arse given Wenger's love of cheap foreign imports. For the fans, a move to the sc&m would be too much to take. So let's hope the Cellino deal is done soon and that he has the financial muscle to convince Byram, Mowatt and Ross to name but three that it's worth hanging around for at least another season.
Morning all. Byram worth 2m max. Busy at work and really can't be arsed with Leeds ****e at the moment
Think the quote was meaning Shaw would go to either Arsenal or Man Utd, with Byram going to Southampton as a replacement. I usually enjoy your optimism Boggers, but £8m + add ons for Byram is just laughably unrealistic, even if we sold him last summer on the back of a fantastic season
Guys, he's 20 not very much. He's a class act that will only get better. He'll have a sell on value for whoever buys him, if indeed we sell him. Of course he's worth £8m+.
1) Teams are very aware that we are in a financial crapshoot at the minute, so they will always come in with low offers. 2) He's hardly featured this season, so isn't anywhere near "in form". 3) For all we know he very well might be crocked, and when potential suitors look at his fitness/injury record over the past 12 months that would knock a chunk off as it's a gamble. 4) I wouldn't even expect to get £8m for Ross as the top scorer in the Championship.
Didnt one of your potential buyers only offer 7m for the whole club Byram 8m+ is just another Boggers tongue in cheek quote if you get 2m offered bite their hands off
Read the admin rules that WERE rewritten because of you boys it clearly tells you what will happen after the March cut off date http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administration_(British_football) Leeds United. filed for administration with only a few days remaining in the 2006–07 season, which automatically triggered a 10-point penalty. This placed Leeds at the bottom of the table and relegated the club, but they were extremely likely to have been relegated anyway. By entering administration during the 2006–07 season, they hoped to avoid starting the 2007–08 season on −10 points. The Football League saw this as a club trying to exploit a loophole and changed the rules. From 2007–08, any club entering administration after the fourth Thursday in March would have their 10-point deduction suspended until the following season. If the club is relegated the points will be deducted from their tally at the start of next season. If the club stays up the 10 points will be taken off their final total. [15] On 26 February 2010, Portsmouth became the first Premier League club to enter administration.[16]
4 Million would be pushing it for Sam very average this season and looks like he could have a career plagued by injuries
Your wage bill is £2M per month (exactly the same as Cagliari's and double ours). Only QPR & Leicester have bigger wage bills
Fair points on injuries for Byram boys. But unless we have reverted to the need for a firesale, I'd be telling any potential suitors for Byram and any of the squad we'd want to keep for next season that he'll cost £8m+ add ons. Should keep the wolves from the door for a bit.
GFH say Cellino has to pay this months wages Cellino says piss off you have till friday to find 2m "good luck with that one" http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ews/leeds-united-new-wage-bill-fear-1-6522741
This is where it gets dodgy cos the contracts are signed so is he still responsible even though the football league rejected him as the owner
Surely the signing of the contracts is only legally binding when approved. Otherwise legally he is our owner.
its not dodgy Cellino has a contract with GFH GFH are responsible for paying wages if Cellino says fook off im not paying GFH are fooked and should take Cellino to court for the dosh but that doesnt help Leeds staff much does it
