True but then its not like you quitting your job, its more like you taking a step back and moving upstairs onto the board. In this instance, you would care as you are still with that employee.
If neither of you are right dos the closest win? For example, should Arsenal drop out and Everton took their place, you would have three to his two.
I think the blame at Fergie is because fans think Fergie is influencing the position of the club towards Moyes. I suspect they feel Fergie is preventing the sacking of Moyes. I think this is true, not that Fergie is calling the shots but the club won't fight him on it. I also reckon that even Fergie will not back Moyes come the summer, United are muddling through the rest of the season and Sir David will get the boot start of June had Moyes just been hired by the club he'd have definitely got his marching orders after the Liverpool game.
I guess so mate. It best be fingers crossed! That 50 quid is very much needed! a couple of bad results for them lately, but I'm sure (hope) they will bounce back
Exactly. Just like we told them once Fergie retires it becomes a much more level playing field in terms of getting the big decisions. They didn't believe that either but it was never going to continue that they'd get 99% of them in their favour anymore. Moyes has been awful and he hasn't helped himself with team selections, tactics etc but he hasn't changed his style of play since he moved from Everton so why the sense of surprise at mold trafford? This was exactly how he was going to set his team up because it's the way he's always set them up. Fergie must have known that, just like he knew the squad was creaking horrendously (hence why he made his last big buy one of his most short term buys ever....Van Pee). He absolutely knew Moyes would need time to rebuild hence him begging the fans for it during his retirement speech. The other things to consider here are that Fergie hanging around peering down from the stands HAS NOT helped Moyes relationship with the squad whatever anyone says about "it shouldn't make a difference". Fergie also knew that there wouldn't be this mythical £100 million to spend in one window, that Moyes bizarrely still seems to think will be available. The Glazers agreed to Moyes over Maureen because they knew he had the record of signing players on the cheap and making them look better. Instead he's come in and spent his budget on one player who was never going to suit this united team and one whos best position is also the best position of their highest paid player #savedave
he's a plastic united fan anyway.. Rubbing salt in the wounds feels great.. Although, I cant really talk if we are buggering off to the Championship
I always said fergie knew exactly what he was doing in suggesting Moyes and I still hold that view. As for Moyes his arrogance in thinking he was anywhere near the standard required to take on the biggest job in English [and Welsh!] football, is astounding and why it's hard to feel sorry for him regardless of the squad left him or anything else. He chose to clear out the backroom staff and replace them with his own sub-standard staff. He went in with his eyes open, it's not like he had any surprises handed to him!
It's also very clear that Moyes was holding Everton back. Be interesting to see if he claims any credit for Martinez work, come the end of the season!
Not sure calling him arrogant is entirely fair. Blinded by ambition might be more appropriate. No one in their right mind would turn down a opportunity like that.
This argument is going in circles we need Livtor to come on to tell us we're all wrong and he's right.
For a man who stayed at Everton for what 12 years! He reached his ceiling at Everton, couldn't take them the next step, Martinez is showing him how that should be done. As for the rest of the comment, Rodgers didn't want to be part of a process for the Liverpool job, now you could equally say nobody in their right mind would turn that job down [of Rodgers standing in the game I mean, not the likes of Guardiolas and Klopps turning it down]
He knew long before he told Kenwright that he was replacing Lord Buckfast, Kenwright should have got them done for tapping Moyes up. As you've said before jb Fergie wanted his glorification kept intact so no high profile replacement was sought or wanted, Charlton has backed Fergies choice to the hilt because he **** scared of him and Fergie has been in complete control of yes man Moyes since minute one, Moyes said only the other day him and Fergie talk every day. They must discuss horseracing and compare tastes in malt whisky because if Fergie had any love for Utd he would have made sure Moyes would have done many things differently this season and the EFC backroom staff wouldn't be OT is the main one. .
