    What would you prefer?

I would actually have Everton finish 4th place, because Martinez is more likeable and a better manager than Moyes was at Everton.

I like the style of Everton play, similar to Liverpool.

I have great respect for Everton, when the whole city united for JFT96, with the chairman going to Anfield to show his respect etc etc

Also it will help Liverpool seeding in the Champion League as Arsenal will be Pot 1, Everton would be in Pot 4.

    Everton for me.

nothing against Arsenal, but they have just accepted top 4 is what its all about, and that to me is not what a successful club should be all about, its wining trophies, or ruddy should be!!!, this would hopefully give them a reality check.

although they could finally win a cup his year.

I don't know. Somehow I would be reluctant to support Everton. In the years of my youth my support for them in these circumstances would be instantaneous. However, in recent years the bitterness that has flowed from their fans makes that built-in response hard to put into effect.

Everton, plus it would be hilarious if Martinez could do in one season what Moyes failed to do in a decade+
plus I think Arsenal will begin to collapse without CL as Wenger will not renew his contract and they will be reluctant to spend big again/shareholders will become stingy

look i don't know. its impossible to say. everton can catch them but equally we need to push on ourselves so i am more focused on us winning our games than anyone else getting something in an ideal world.

As long as both are behind us after game 38 its fine.

Yes everton all the way but really... lfc is where its at.

Maybe but I'd still go for them over Arsenal.

    Everton all the way.

I always see local rivalries like family squabbles. Against one another you do anything to win, but against anyone outside the family you support them. Therefore I would love both Liverpool teams to do well but always hope Liverpool FC do better.

Its the same with English teams in the CL. I always support the English team that is playing in the CL, or home nations in other sports. I always support Scotland, Wales, Ireland and N.Ireland against anyone except England.

It'd be funny if the first time Arsenal win a trophy in nearly 10 years would also be the time the fail to finish top4.

Probably pick Everton. Played like they deserve it this year, far more than Arsenal. Don't think they'd make it to the group stages so unlikely to make too much money off CL football (can't have them catching up with us and more money will help them do that).

Arsenal also really pissed me off with the £1 offer and their fans being insistent that Suarez wanted to go to them.

Although if it happens Wenger would/could be out and they might get a manger who knows what he's doing and is more adaptable. Might be dangerous.

Nothing against Everton getting 4th, assuming we are top 3, but I can't see them qualifying for the group stage tbh. They would struggle.

Don't matter, we're still getting 4th spot, :). You can bank on that, that is something we have become very reliable on.

This is true but lose to City this weekend and you're gonna find it difficult. C'mon Gooners turn them over and make it interesting.

Think for Liverpool as a club we should go for Arsenal this year.

If Everton get CL they get a cash influx which will allow them to improve an already strong side.

Arsenal already have the money to spend and will do (or should) regardless of CL qualification.

We want Everton's challenge for 4th to slip away as players like Miralles lose interest/are taken by bigger sides. If anything we want them to lose momentum.

So thinking of next season, I'd rather it was Arsenal. If Liverpool were in the position of say Chelsea or City, where qualification next season is a given, it'd be nice to see Everton try their luck at getting into the group stages again.

Even if we lose, we will still make it, we were in a worst position last season when we played Spurs and lost to them and went 7 points behind them in February, yet we still managed to get that top 4th spot.
