    York City boss Nigel Worthington says their club would like to sign Nick Pope on a permanent deal, after he kept his 11th clean sheet in 15 appearances for the club.

    At the Charlton fans Q&A pre season, the management said that Pope was potentially the best of the lot in terms of our keepers. Ben Roberts rates him highly.

    Please keep him and play him in our side next term if Hamer leaves ! Another gem from our Academy.

    <cheers>

    When he gets the chance he'll take it, and it won't matter who our no. 2 is, Hamer or Phillips. The only thing he lacked before was the confidence to bellow at and organise more experienced defenders in front of him. Now that he's proved himself at York I think his time has come. But then again I have been telling you for ages how good he is, just as I did with Poyet and er, Pigott.

    Sounds very glowing, cast the chaff aside and use this gem we already have.

    Reminds me a bit of a young Edwin van der Sar.

    Will need a few more pounds, but age is very much on his side.

    I was pleased to hear Pope say that crosses were one of his strengths, because that's what I first noticed, how early he seems to be able to judge the flight of the ball. A natural talent.
    I was at the U-18's yesterday, and apart from the continuing excellence of Edwardes and Ahearne-Grant who we already know about, I was struck by the improvement in Terrell Thomas at CB. Looks as though he's been working really hard at his game.

    Are you really a Charlton supporter, or just a Millwall troll? Do you know anything about Charlton at all?

    I seriously need to go and watch the U18s one day myself rather than constantly ask people but you hear a bit about Levander Pike... What are his chances like?

    If Edwards stays at LB not much. Otherwise in the balance.

    i said it on twitter last night, but this european scouting network is really paying off... touch of sarcasm there. every import forced on us so far has turned into a dud.

    meanwhile, michael smith is scoring at will, and nick pope is keeping clean sheets all over the place.

    Astrid has played well <ok> but Chris Powell actually wanted him...... not sure Chris wanted the rest.... they were just dumped on him...... Peter the Pole must be poor if we are recalling a U21 player from Gillingham rather than risk our free scoring Pole?

    It's a random opinion algorithm. Like this

    Perhaps the Polish bloke is too good for the rest of the team and would be operating on another level...

    In terms of the European network of players we've signed I think Reza shows flashes of what he can do (Wigan... Burnley he did a good run... Bournemouth he was lively) he just needs to be a little bit more faster with his passing a bit stronger and bit more confident when facing goal (A pre-season will do him a world of good with us I reckon)

    As for Thuram and Nego... Cough!
