Now i know im gonna get a hell of a lot of stick for this but hey ho, would a lot of other teams in the premiership be looking over thier shoulder and be thinking................ 1 liverpool are playing a better type of football in the last six months of the season and are surely going to improve. 2 liverpool have a coaching and management team that is constantly improving the teams morale and letting them enjoy thier football hence better play on matchday. 3 liverpool have a very good and stable business model now with owners too keen to make aquisitions to the squad to help build a strong future on the pitch as well as off it. dunno maybe its just the next year is our year thing but you never know lol
when we finished 2nd a lot of pundits thought we would move on to the next level and it didn't happen. I have beleif in the current management Kenny was just what we needed but we also need to be patient. I think we will finish easily in the top 4 which will be a good start.
yeah its gonna take time but the beleif to do better is flooding thru the squad and i think other teams will have noticed it too
I can see some of the current top teams worried about our current situation and possibly spending that little bit extra. If they don't - then they'd be very naive. If we start the season well, then we can certainly make all the other teams aware of us - which when playing the lower teams certainly has a powerful effect on morale.
New signings and a good start is paramount,I reckon we'll get both. However it may take 10-12 games before people sit up and take notice that Liverpool are back. Our first big challenge is Arsenal away, and then Spurs away, then that lot at Anfield and then the BS,If we can pick up a decent number of points,we'll upset the apple-cart.
Arsenal and Spurs will be cautious. Chelsea and United wont be, not yet anyway, you have shown nothing to be concerned about. Man City will expect to win a quad next season......much like Arsenal last season ( prepare to laugh )
I think if we can have a good start to the season, the teams above us might start getting a bit worried. We'd have to be consistent over the season though.
We've shown nothing that United and Chelsea have to be concerned about. More United fans delusion at its finest. United and Chelsea will be worried as Liverpool beat Chelsea at SB,and beat United to a pulp at Anfield. Now that is something to be worried about.
Get the start of the season of to a flyer and try and get max points (hopefully) from the first 10 games The belief is there the way we were playing in the 2nd part of the season was refreshing to watch Start the same way have consistency and the other teams will start getting worried i'm not saying we will get the league but we will work hard and get as high as we can I can't wait
We'll be worried if your near us on points after 15 games. Otherwise we'll look at you like we look at tottenham (good team looking to push on, but no-one really sees them as title contenders)
Geordie opinion (take with as much salt as you please lol!!) As things stand, There is nothing to really separate you from Spurs. It does all depend what happens in this transfer window though. The thing is, the teams above you are bound to strengthen too and probably sign better players than you. I think the last 2 seasons have been slightly damaging for you and the lack of European football could push you back even further but I suspect with a steady rebuild under Kenny, you will end up back in the mix for the title!
Eh? We have lost to you many times over the years and trust me, its of no concern. What makes you think anythings changed?
As it stands they already are. That's based upon the statements of the managers of City, Spurs, United & Arsenal. If we did not worry them then they would not be mentioning us.
We have a very nice run in to the end of the season. I think Swansea and Norwich are the aways at the end and this will be very helpful if we're scrapping for points. As for winning the league - who knows? Man U won the title last season because someone had to win it. They were NOT brilliant, but everyone else WAS rubbish. You can still win a 100m sprint in a time of 20 seconds if everyone else runs slower than you. It's no-where near a world record or even a respectable time, but there has to be a winner in a race. Last year's Premiership was a little like that. Man U won by dint of being the best team, not a brilliant team. I definitely wouldn't bet my house on us winning the title, but it isnt beyond all realms of possibility.
All the clubs mentioned were talking about Blackpool at the start of last season....I assume we were worried about their title credentials aswell? Seriously, dont you lot get tired of living outside of reality?
I dont think we'll be taken as serious contenders at the start which may work in our favour. I think in Suarez we have a player who can make things happen and if Carroll can start the league like he did with newcastle last season we're going to score alot of goals. Keep them and Gerrard fit and we wont be too far away.
Utd have at various times over the last few years been beaten by Liverpool and guess what Utd still won titles etc. I'm not losing any sleep over you lot.
Typical Man United fans...the league hasn't started yet and they've already won it.Thats the height of pure arrogance.I hope it blows up in their faces.
This isn't a dig but the only fans who should be worried are the liverpool fans as Dalgish's honeymoon period is over and if you look at his management career since he left liverpool as a player manager it is hardly anything to write home about so imo there is nothing to suggest that the romantic nature of having Dalglish in charge of your club will override his lack of managerial ability to bring real success and I won't take any satisfication in this but I believe come the end of the season you will realise Dalglish isn't good enough.
