I'd go to the Silverlake to watch Eastleigh v Pompey. Properly priced tickets, proper supporters. Could be fun. :)

Remember that we have left an open invitation for you to come over to the Saints. However, we are also open enough to appreciate that you might want to remain the resident Pompey supporter on a Saints forum.

So, how is that being owned/run by the "fans" thing working out?

Good job it was a democratic vote by Pompey Trust members to select Rickie Barker. Good job it wasn't done behind closed doors, pretty much on the say so of one unelected person.

As I explained on the News today, Portsmouth FC are owned by the fans in the same way the UK is a democracy. You or me or anyone else on this forum can't vote on legislation or enact policies but we vote in people who represent us. Likewise with Portsmouth it's the same principle, we vote for the PST board which then votes for their representatives on the PFC board to represent the fans and their views, like MPs (in theory) represent the views of their constituents. In theory, any PST member can seek nomination to the board and from there to the board of PFC. Therefore it's more democratic than British politics seeing as most of our political 'elite' are career politicians who worm their way up the party hierarchy from uni onwards.

I agree the process of selecting Barker was seemingly flawed. Silly Caitlin.

We're talking about a city which elected Mike Hancock and Penny Mordaunt here.

Exactly. A dodgy Lib Dem, and a tory. How the Tories reflect the City of Portsmouth. Dear, dear. No wonder the club is where it is. (thick people....)

    She's a Tory, therefore not a decent MP. :)

I have Conservative Caroline Nokes for my MP. In principle, I'm no Conservative, but I have to say that Nokes has listened to my opinion on one or two matters and she's no idiot. For a Tory MP, who I didn't vote in, I could have been landed with a lot worse. To be honest, it's a shame she's not Lib Dem or Labour. She, at the very least, acknowledges a valid opinion, instead of dismissing it, which is all I can ask for in an MP who doesn't naturally align with my principles.
