Our whole club setup, is sadly, a marriage of convenience. Pardew is a football manager, and he has a team of football players. I don't think either can work out why/what they did to get here, but they are here and they are doing what they are paid to do. Unfortunately, noone seems to have the nous or desire, to try and make any more of it than that - the owner, most obviously included.

This leaves us stumbling along with no real direction (as there is nothing from above to direct) and merely going through the motions. Everyone is doing the best with what they've got - it's just that the best we've got really isn't that good. The more you step back and look at things from a distance, the more it appears that any relative success we have had in the Ashley years, has been more luck than judgement. The 'great Carr scouting' has produced nothing better, than any other scouts of top clubs produce. Where are these gems that he has found? Cabaye is the exception, not the rule.

Which basically, leaves us with what we have today. A team assembled on the cheap, being put together buy a manager who has been brought in on the cheap.

Finishing 5th was possibly the worst thing that could have happened. As it had us all buying into this 'plan', that we apparently had, that was working. When really, it was just luck and timing more than anything else, that allowed us to flourish.

We currently occupy the status that we probably should occupy, and the sooner we accept this, the better. Until our sugar daddy/white knight/geordie billionaire messiah arrives. This is the best we can hope for!

It's a ****e state of affairs, but it's our ****e state of affairs.

Anyone is better than that useless ****.

I can't think many of us are that shocked. Everton are better than us - end of story sadly.

After tonight surely it's time for a change. Hadaira deserves his chance and I believe he's a better defender than Dummett. De Jong and Shola are not up to it so give our younger players some experience seeing as we've nothing to go for. Prepare for next season NOW.

LDJ is a waste of space and at least Shola has a love of the club and a bit passion.

Been on earlies all week, so I was in bed by the time we kicked off last night. I would be glad I missed it, but I'm so apathetic about our team now, that it wouldn't have bothered me much if we'd won 3-0 instead.

However, my lass is coming to visit me in April, when Newcastle have a home game. I think I'll take her, just for the craic. She's used to ice Hockey stadia.... I told her how many people we can fit in St Jame's and she nearly **** a puck... Then I told her that it's ok, it'll sound like there's only 500 people there, and that'll be the 500 in the away section.
