I think there was a misunderstanding between him and the fans. Most people liked him at the time and the vast majority appreciated the work he'd done turning the team around, there were occasional murmurs about a boring playing style but he was always supported at games. However from something he said at the time he left I got the impression he thought the fans didn't like him. I don't know why he thought that but he seemed to think we disliked him. I also remember at one time he took exception to a chant from the City fans (might have been something like "Pearson, Pearson, sort it out.") and for the next couple of games he clearly refused to 'Give us a wave.'

I'm not saying for a second that that bothered me, but it was clear at the time that he was upset with the fans over something from the previous game and I've never seen another manager do that.

I remember it was 'Browny Browny sort it out' in March 2008 when we were 'only' drawing with Cov at half time.

Don't think NP is really fussed about being liked (or not) and finds pandering to the needy fans a bit beneath his (or any other manager's) dignity.

Can you imagine Raich Carter waving to the baying numpties?

    Or Cliff Britton?

I think they're more likely to be knocking frantically.

Stressing it again, the man's a loose cannon ready to explode.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/feb/07/nigel-pearson-james-mcarthur-leicester-palace

Two months after being banned for a game and fined £10,000 for swearing at one of his own side’s fans, Nigel Pearson, was involved in another incident in his technical area – the Leicester manager appearing to put his hands around the neck of Crystal Palace’s James McArthur.

The confrontation happened when the midfielder accidentally knocked Pearson over. The manager reacted by grabbing McArthur and holding on to his shirt even when both were back on their feet. Asked why he had refused to let go of McArthur, who almost joined Leicester last summer only for the club’s two bids of £5m and £7m to be rejected by Wigan, Pearson said: “Because he said something to me.” Asked to elaborate, he replied: “I don’t have to reveal anything do I? I’m more than capable of looking after myself.

At least he didn't headbutt him.

Did we need to top an old thread for this though? Because of the site change it took me to the first post of the thread telling me it was a new one so I've just read 2 pages before twigging there was a comment about him having the safest job in the championship. <laugh>

Sorry (I didn't want the Leicester Massive to suggest we'd started another thread about their mental manager in the hope that they'd divert attention away from his ****fuckery).

I tend to stay away since my ban, they're easily upset. No sense of humour, which is ironic all things considered.

Pearson is a ****ing mentalist. Just watched it on MOTD - complete cock. 'I can look after myself', McArthur didn't even do anything but fall into flat head following a tackle by a Leicester player. He's an idiot.

He wants knocking out, seriously. I'd be embarrassed if he was still a manager here.

Pearson has always been an arrogant tw*t that thinks being questioned by media or fans is beneath him, the way he reacted today stinks of being a bully boy, can`t believe the other tool Pardew didn`t react, can you imagine Brucie seeing that then meekly asking what was going on.

What a ****ing mentalist. I liked him as a manager,.but his public persona is just bizarre. The funny thing is people on here predicted he would have these breakdowns as a PL manager as soon as they got promoted.

He thinks he's above scrutiny by the media as well. He also thinks he's some sort of tough guy.
