Hi Saints fan here. Seeing how well your site is doing thought I'd take a look. Is this the biggest Hull site you have? How well do you think you will do this season and will you be fancying finishing above us? Looking at some of the matches that lie ahead I must say that this looks like a very tough League.
We'll be **** this season. Mid table if we're lucky. Unless we somehow manage to keep Bullard, then we'll get promoted with at least 100 points.
There's alot of popular City forums on the web (as i said on fran's thread). I'm yet to make an opinion on our season next year, i'm waiting till i see them in pre season and see who we sign. Last season i said mid table and i was right. Our away form was good but at home we were awful. Inafct we were poor for half the season up until christmas. We lost to two relegated teams at home, but then suddenly, after our boxing day win at Sheff Utd we just took off. Opinion is divided whether Pearson's doing a good job or not.
Saints are on the up coming back from that relegation & -10pts. Good stadium, support & history. You've got Lambert, Puncheon & Forte there & with some strengthening should be fine. I'd say you'll be 10-14th, and if you manage that & beat Pompey then I guess you'd be satisfied? Is there a rivalry with south coast Brighton too? I recall us beating you 5-0 at foggy KC the last time we met (revenging a 4-0 drubbing at yours!)
Realistically, 10-14 would be acceptable in our first year back in the Championship, but we can dream of sneaking in at 6th can't we The trouble is that Norwich have raised the bar, haven't they. Must beat Pompey, especially at SMS. We had no previous rivalry with Brighton, but they got a bit uppity so we had to beat them at their ground. Let them get one in front to get their hopes up, then 2 late goals. Can't really dislike them though. Good luck for season (apart from 2 games!).
Brighton would like to think so but no more than any club that is reasonably close to another. Our fiercest rivals are and always will be Pompey. We have had a few good games with you over the years. I like to think that we will again this season. Re Pearson, I think he is a good strong manager but when with us he saved us from the drop to Div 1 before the French Idiots trial with our youngsters the following season. For that reason I think you can expect him to receive a good hand when you arrive at ours.
In a word no. At least not without adding some strength to the team. Would scare the living daylight out of me and may be too early for another jump.
You always seem to thrash us at your place. Think Ellison scored the equaliser against you in our first season back at this level in 2005/6, and i think that's the last time we got anything at your place. I missed the 5-0 match at our place in the fog. Also remember a young Theo Walcott playing against us, for you lot at the KC, before he, somehow ,got an England call up for the World Cup.
We have Oxlade-Chamberlain now and he will be better than Theo. First we have to see him stay though. Have a couple of youngsters pushing for a chance as well.
Our academy is being expanded. There's a gap in players coming through because of our financial problems, but the intention is to supply more first team players. Makes economic sense, now teams have to balance their books better.
If you really want to gauge where we will finish next season, you only have to consider our latest signing,Dele Adebola. Im sure you can work it out for yourselves now !
There's no way we can predict what happens before we see how the teams play. It's impossible to tell what will happen. I'll wait till Xmas before I make any predictions. My only prediction is that the Posh will finish last whilst conceding the most goals.
We don't really know what will happen yet, we are allegedly only looking at frees and loans, but I'm not completely convinced, I still think there may be a surprise or two to come(dependant on shifting a couple of our vastly overpaid Premier League left-overs). Whatever happens, it's going to be a tough league this season.
****ing doom and gloom already, no wonder were classed as the ****test city in the uk is there haha!! what with all the depressing bastards no wonder its a **** place to live Nah seriously i cant see us having the start we did last season, the squad that started last season was diabolical, in no way are we in worse shape than that, Stewart, Evans, Fryatt, Mclean, Dudgeon, chester, Rosenior all signed and improved us no end. The above players plus Adebola, Mckenna, Kilkenny plus a goalie or two and maybe Hobbs and we have a pretty solid if unspectacular squad, il wait till we finish our business before i slit my wrists like some, Crikey reading on here you wouldnt think we almost went out of business last season, how about KEEPING IT REAL
