no way that in the next 8/10 games that sunderland are going to gain 8 more points than we're going to manage. Even if they do, theres no way that 4/5 other teams will outperform us over the next 8 by 4/5 points

I agree. Since Xmas, the Sunderland lot have been banking on them getting points at home against the lower teams in the league. Unfortunately for them, it hasn't quite worked out that way. They were constantly saying "you watch Hull slump when all the big teams come to the KC in the second half of the season". They seemed to forget that we could pick up wins away.

Thanks for disagreeing with me in such a polite manner :D

I would agree with all your points but I'd just like to add that what has happened in the previous 30 games is history.

We're in a fantastic position, we have a stronger squad and a better manager but that still doesn't guarantee us the necessary points.

Personally, I think we will stay up by 3-4 pts but it's still only cautious optimism for me....

If we win tomorrow I think we'll be assured of staying up. If we lose its still possible that we could be caught but I very much doubt it. So I'd say "Yes". We've shown by our performances against the top clubs that we belong in the Prem...although we haven't picked up points against them other than Liverpool. We have the nucleus of a solid mid-table team and a great manager. Happy days and a Cup Final to look forward to. My flight is booked!!

Option D) Probably, but there is a chance you can get sucked back into it.

I will always be polite.<ok>
I totally agree with the 30 games is history bit and theres no guarantee. However, a lot of teams below us cant buy a goal and seem very good at letting them in.
IMO I think we only need 3 more points to stay up......1 win....only 1 win.

In fact, I will start celebrating now. Anybody fancy a l<cheers>

Not until this happens.

I’m a mongrel and I just won a dog fight.

Until then, we must live with the uneasy, nagging fear that we could get sucked back into it.

Have faith my bretheran. I have seen beyond the hills. I have seen over the mountains.

One day, not too far away, you shall wake up mathematically safe.

On a lilo.

In a sea of alright.

Not yet. But looking at the remaining fixtures of the bottom 6 another WIN and Hull City are safe imo.

I dont see either Fulham or Cardiff getting past 33 points anyway.

I honestly feel we could win tomorrow. WBA win was the must win game. We'll be safe with a handful of games left imo.

We're winning games when the class of 2008/9 couldn't buy a point. Only a Craig ***an goal away at Bolton and a Manucho rarity at Fulham saved a team bang out of ideas.

West ham have 2 points less than us so they'll have a pop, we'll need Curtis to be on his marks

Did a bit of working out and during in the history of Premier League during a 38 game season you need a average of 37 points to survive.

Yes <ok>

Or at least on the road to safety.

There are several much worse teams than yourselves out there.
