пасибо товарищ Путин! Yes, fraternal greetings and thanks to comrade Putin. His annexation of the Crimea has convinced people that relying on the Russians not to turn off our gas supply is sheer folly, as this lot cannot be trusted. Big up the North Sea wind farms then and energy autonomy! Congratulations to all those who have played a meaningful role in getting Siemens here (mainly ABP?) Success has a thousand mothers of course but in terms of the local political landscape, the old paradigm is shattered forever. Rail electrification, Castle St, Siemens, COC...all under this 'north hating' posho coalition, whereas Labour big hitters Prezzer and Alan J all conspicuously failed to bring home the bacon despite being in the cabinet. I just wonder how all this can be digested in local political circles as the old prejudices have been demolished.
And here I was looking at the title and thinking you were practising your language skills ready for a job at that new Siemens plant.
Fingers crossed never. One of the last remaining English cities, with a real sense of place and friendliness.
What chance Siemens as next or next but one sponsor? Massive investment for them and maybe a flagship location for them in 2-3 years time.

These jobs coming to Hull are great but the UK is increasingly like a developing country in the way it needs to beg for manufacturing from overseas. And that's not an anti coalition point. We've been going down this road for decades now.
