They're making a mockery of a great institution. Regarding the game, we're very fortunate to be going in 1 to the good. Wigan should be at least level. Carroll, despite playing quite well otherwise, gave away two balls which sent them down the other end and they probably should've scored the pair of them. They'll score 2nd half so we'll have to score one or two ourselves.
Half time, score line a little flattering but not one of those 'oh no' performances, just a little passionless. Over the last 2 and a half seasons the 'intimidation' factor of the crowd at LR seems to have ebbed away to nothing. Remember that first game against Chelsea in 2011? Zamora is spending too much time working the wing channels, like we were 2 up and playing out the game. He can't give Austin a challenge if he doesn't get into goal scoring positions, and then score.

So far tonight we've seen probably our best moves so far this season, mixed in the the same **** passing we've become used to. Carroll has given away 2-3 really bad passes, think O'neil or Henry would be better. Barton similarly is having an off game and seems a bit lost. BUT!!! Overall I'd say a great improvement, some of our moves have been sublime, especially the goal that had some wonderful passing and as for Clint Hill little flick!! But we are still only 1 up, I don't think this new confidence would survive a goal from Wigan. If they really are going to build the needed confidence in the final 8 games, they need to get another goal or 2 to show themselves that they can do it. The atmosphere seemed dire at first but has been really lively since the goal, hopefully another 1 or 2 in the right net and it will be rocking.
