I went and creeped over on the Everton forum Grand old team for a bit. They seem very confident. Not like a team that has lost 4 away games in a row.... They also seem to think they're a bigger club. HMMM, I don't know any everton fans here in the states except for 1. I swear that's only because he's gay for Mirallas..... Lets get the 3 points today.

I'm going 2-1 toon. With Tiote and Cisse scoring.

I think we've lost the last three on the road and you're not near the same bracket as Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.

    We're probably not.

The fact that we're not as good as the last 3 teams that were better than you, however, doesn't mean that we won't kick your ass.

    I expect that something else will result in us not kicking your ass but it won't be: {If C, T & L are all greater than E, and if N is smaller that C, T & L, what is the relation between N and E ?}

Not much between the two squads, take Barry, Lukaku and the Barca lad out of their team and they begin to look very short in depth, especially up front.

Same with us regarding Remy. I also think that players like Distin, Howard, Osman and Barry are well in to their 30s now and I don't think Everton will have the money to sign replacements of the same quality. Although it's slightly balanced out by the fact they have Stones and Barkley coming through.

All in all both clubs have a big summer window coming up but I do think they may well have the beating of us tonight.

Got to say I think there quite a big difference between the 2 squads. Everton are a quality side.

    GK Howard, Robles
DF Jagielka, Alcaraz, Baines, Coleman, Hibbert, Distin, Stones
MF Gibson, McGeady, Oviedo, Pienaar, Barkley, McCarthy, Barry, Osman
    FWD Deufoleu, Miralles, Naismith, Gueye
    ST Kone, Lukaku, Traore, Vellios

I'd say that is better in every single department. On a one off game we can compete and our first 11 is not far away. But depth wise they have two players for most positions bar defensively. If Baines got injured they'd have to play someone out of position. Similar to us when Debuchy is injured (though you could argue Santon is actually a right back).

I expect a tough game which I think we'll lose 2-0. Home comforts can help us and much will depend on that atmosphere. Sometimes on these night games the crowd really get behind us and drag us through games. I just worry about our ability to score goals. Cisse will not be suited by the aggression of Distin/Jagielka. LDJ is probably best suited to that but I think it will be Cisse/HBA up top. Both are pussies. Gouffran's defensive problems may be exposed by the attacking prowess of Coleman. Much will depend on what mood Moussa is in with regard to Baines. However he does normally give a very flat performance when we have done these short turnarounds for whatever reason. I just think they are a bad mix for us of power, aggression and possesion football.

Lukaku took the piss out of Mbiwa last time, hopefully Colo/Willo will do better as they did 2nd half.

You've probably been asked this before, but are you the same person as the old 606 David Moyes Wife/Orb of Genius ?

If so, did you have a brain or personality transplant ? Old Orb was one of the most pathetic WUMs I've ever come across while you seem decent craic.

<laugh> A quick check of username history will give you the answer you seek. The current username was done in a daft moment as a homage to WUM from them old days. I was torn between this and Borogully.

Sorry but take out Lukaku and Traore and they have nothing up front.

Take out Barry and Deufoleu and their midfield is short of options. Including Gueye in their squad is like including Sammy in ours, neither will make the grade.

Distin and Howard are both 36. You're looking at 6 players that need replacing within 12 months, four this summer (Lukaku, Barry, Traore and Deufoleu) and two next summer (Distin and Howard). Can't remember Everton splashing more than 10-15m in a transfer window in a long time. They're like us, they sell to buy.

The four that need replacing this summer will cost 30-40 million if they want to replace to the same standard. This season they have a better squad because they have three loan players in their first 11, they have just as big a summer as us.

Here I thought you might have finally worked your way through all those recipes and have come back for some new ones only to find that no one seemed to offer them any more.

Hmm its a bit strange though looking at squads in the future as determining how good they are right now. It is a good point about age and the loans but the bottom line is they have got them at present in the current season. So going into the season and after Jan, they were much better equipped than we were. On paper thats better than what we have in terms of depth. They have got big changes ahead no doubt though. I'd fancy them a lot stronger to retain their loanees than we will though.

    GK Krul, Elliott
DF Santon, Colo, Willo, Saylor, Haidara, Dummett, Mbiwa, Debuchy
MF Sissoko, Tiote, Anita, Gosling, Marveaux
FWD Remy, Gouffran, Obertan, HBA, Sammy
    ST Shola, LDJ, Cisse

They just look a lot deeper to me. Defensively we probably have more depth. However their first choice back four is better. We're also reduced to including not one Gueye but a few in the form of Marveaux, Gosling, Sammy, Obertan, Shola.

Cisse and LDJ looks such an impotent forward line. I reckon a defeat is in the offing.
