http://www.liverpoolfc.com/history/timeline/1944-1969/transfer-record-smashed-again Transfer record smashed again. So a club breaks the transfer record several times and yet they aren't buying success?
That's not being fair, we know Liverpool fans only want to talk about trophies won when referencing 'history'. The fan that confuses 'history' with 'trophies won' is the quintessential glory hunter.
I'm not sure if it's complete ignorance of the historical facts or they are just in complete denial. The latter I suspect.
In 1987, Liverpool bought the best three attackers in Britain: Aldridge, Beardsley and Barnes (after racially abusing him as a Watford player, making him dress up as a gollywog at the Xmas party and racist tea lady refusing to serve him at half-time) to walk the 87/8 title. If Carroll cost £35, those three would cost £130m now. They also bought Ray Houghton: probably a £150m spend in today's money
Seems like some - not all - Liverpool fans do not even realise who owned their club in the 60s, 70s and 80s
finally saved by the ref in the final minute - when Guzzman is thru on goal.. utter shame for Swans - they deserved more from that.
Arsenal and United dreadful, hopefully Les Bottleurs can knick a point v City somehow. They are melting in March as usual though
Yep. But be nice to see Everton get CL footy though, especially after Moyes leaving them for "better pastures" Fellaini really is a dirty ****er isn't he? Scumbag.
Here fishy fishy I don't think I've ever seen anyone so completely owned as foredeck and jb have been on this thread. Made to look like absolute fools.
JB can be alright, CP of L and at least has a brain. But For Deck is a front-of-the-queue mug who knows nothing about his own club's history. As plastic as the runners' up flags the Dippers loved so much at Wembley 12
A "History" of buying. 2004-2009, something like 75 players "bought".....not developed......bought! One of my favourite video clips of that era: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fCf8RAco4o&feature=player_embedded
