We haven't responded that well to the thrashing of Liverpool, we followed it with a rubbish 0-0 draw to a very **** United side, then beat Sunderland, then lost to Stoke, and we've been thrashed again against Chelsea, so that's not actually true, our league form since the Pool game has been far from good, it's been: P 5 W 2 L 2 D 1
Winning the cup this season, in the words of Tim Sherwood will only pepper over the obvious cracks at Arsenal, our thrashings against the big sides still shows how far we are from being where we want to be, and once again come February our form took a dip when we were challenging, the same old story from years such as 2008, 2010, and 2011. While this season has been an improvement from the previous 2, in the grand context, it hasn't been an improvement of what we've seen in the past 8 years, the same persistent problems we've seen in the past 8 years have come up again, lack of proper depth, failure to handle the big sides, and the usual giving into the pressure during the crunch time of the season February-March, our title hopes hang by a thread right now, and it's once again because when we entered the important period, we bottled it, and bottled it really really bad conceding a combined 11 goals against Chelski and Pool, and then having our annual loss at Stoke.
Kos is out for this game. Bellerin is in the squad. Both Ox and Gibbs suspensions have been dropped and they are both available
****wood can keep his salt and pepper and shove it where the sun don't shine. He's in no position to be commenting on Arsenal, but for the record he said that a win over spurs would only paper over the cracks, not an FA cup trophy.
If we win the fa cup and finish within a handful of points off the top of the table it will be a clear improvement on the last couple of seasons and our first trophy in years. The fact we have started to bring top players into the squad (ozil) along with a squad who know each other well, I think it would be clear we are moving in the right direction. Sometimes as fans we want everything now but as long as we continue to move in the right direction I'll keep faith in the people running the club. Obviously we need to address our issues with playing away to the top teams (and we also always seem to play worse with lunchtime kickoffs) but you shouldn't take for granted having a team who is able to be consistent against the lesser teams. We have a good platform to build on and provided we finish the season well I don't think fans should be disappointed. Individual results can hurt a lot but you have to keep the big picture in view.
Reading one of you rants reminds me of listening to one of my grandchildren telling a story. They never pause to draw breath. It must be your lack of punctuation .
We shall have to wait and see if we can build on this, we've been here before (2008, 2010, 2011) and then faded away from being challengers and pushing on.
You're not making any points, you're just posting the same old drivel. Calling you a clown would be an insult to clowns
I don't post facts? Ok let's have the debate then, because you always like to talk condescendingly, so I'll call you out, tell me where I was wrong and not factually correct? Common old man, we both know you're not going to be able to say **** now but only your typical smug comments not related at all to the football points, but again, I'm calling you out, show me where I was not factual on something I said, keep it football related and show me where I was wrong, common, let's see it.
Btw, here are just some of the facts you claim are not facts but boring drivel: 1- Our record against the top 3 (counting United, not Liverpool) over the past few seasons has been woeful, this season has been no better in general. In the last 15 away games at the top 3, it's played 15, lost 13, drawn 1, and won 1, simply put, our record against the top sides is not good enough, unless I'm reading some incorrect stat that says we've been consistently beating your United's, Chelsea's, and City's in the past few seasons. 2- Our form has dropped off in February-March, just as it has in other title challenging seasons (2008, 2010, and 2011), Since February, we've lost 3 times, and have had 2 draws, that's not very good form going into the crunch time of the season, 2 of those losses have been to direct rivals, and not only did we lose them, we got destroyed in them, conceding a combined 11 goals against Chelsea and Liverpool. 3-We lack some squad depth, notably in the striking department, it's become clear as daylight that Giroud needs support, and that we need another main striker to our squad, this should've been sorted out in the summer, or at least partially in the January transfer window, but nothing was done to sort this area out. Those are just some of my 'facts', now please tell me which parts are incorrect, and as you call it, 'drivel', common OLD MAN, what do you have? You always like telling everybody how old you are, so surely being so old, you must have wisdom eh? So common, where am I mistaken and talking drivel, enlighten me please.
That would just piss me off if this was the case, March time, and we're having to rely on Chuba f**king Akpom for some squad depth, my God how much more evidence is needed that Wenger's clearly no longer the right man for the job?
In all that rant you failed to include the influence of Ramsey on your season? He was the main driving force, and it's not difficult to see how you have dropped off since he got injured, now is it? Your midfield is not the same without him. As for our game today, well I hope we stuff you!........... please log in to view this image
